Hi guys,
Hope I am asking in the right thread.

I want something similar  to Samsung ATIV TAB or Lenovo thinkpad tablet 2 which i can buy locally.

http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-XE300TZC-K01...d/dp/B00DVFMBRG.

http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-ThinkPad-Tabl...U/dp/B009TLA7P4

Both models are quite thin n light, come with full Windows 8 and very good battery life.

I couldn't find any seller/shop selling these models locally.
Preferred Brand: None
Budget: Below 2.5k
Usage: For office usage / browsing
Preferred laptop/screen size: 10"
Optional: with a stylus is preferable.

Thank you.

currently aiming y400 freedos..any other suggestion? (for my friend)

Either the Y400 or the Y410P nod.gif
Which one to get depends on how adventurous your friend is nod.gif
I'm assuming he is experienced since he knows how to install OS and drivers on his own.

To maximize his budget, get the Y400, extend warranty to 3 years, and upgrade to an SSD! brows.gif brows.gif

Can consider these:

GP60-2OD, i7-4700MQ + Nvidia GT740M + (1920x1080; anti-glare)@RM2999, 4GB, 750GB, W8, steel series KB

Toshiba

*Prices in RRP, negotiable
*Do take note that processors with suffix "M" are more powerful, better for video editing. Personally I think the MSI notebooks offer the best in terms of specs for your usage. The FullHD screens can be really handy as well icon_rolleyes.gif
If video editing is more important to you than gaming, then the MSI GP60 is the one to go for brows.gif

Hi Guys!

I'm looking for a laptop:

1. Preferred Brand - Dell, Lenovo (or others with good warranty)
2. Budget - Maximum RM2500
3. Usage - For my sister at Uni. Doing programming, entertainment stuff (probably an ultrabook or lighter laptop, full HD)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 14"

I'm looking at Lenovo Z400 Touch with i7. Is it OK?

Thanks ya.  rolleyes.gif

Don't think you can get a Full HD 14" notebook on that budget tongue.gif

Yeah, the Z400 Touch with i7 is a pretty good choice since its a normal quad-core processor. But do take note that the machine is not easy to upgrade ya. Might want to upgrade to 8GB RAM too~

Can consider this one also, a bit old-tech, but comes with 3 years warranty:
14"
TOshiba Satellite M840-1034XG/XP/XQ, i7-3620QM + AMD HD7670M@RM2699, 4GB, 750GB, W8SL; 3 years local warranty; colors:gold/pink/blue

Inspiron 7000 series touch all come with Corning Gorilla glass. Some like it, but no matte option.

i checked the unit today, all i can say, even with a glossy screen, it still looks great. build quality is amazing, thanks to the whole aluminium body design and thick monitor lid but i prefer the lid to be slimmer and a thicker base (for better cooling, of course). vents are now located at the center of the monitor hinge (or so called ventless design), not sure whether this kind of design will trap more heat since there is less space for the airflow. with backlit keyboard, typing in the dark is an easy job with its 2 levels brightness adjustment. as for the keyboard, typers will find the keyboard is a drastic show. sweat.gif

Rm3599 for the 15 and RM3999 for the 17. both are online price.

actually not everyday but count it as constantly. last week went there to help my friend to buy something, as im an ex staff of a hardware shop and might get a cheaper pricing by getting it from my colleagues. as for today, im just going there just to collect my cheque from the person whom owe my money. tongue.gif

EDIT : lol @TJ. laugh.gif
i will tiao those banglas if they annoy me. laugh.gif

Hi again ! I raised my budget to RM4k this time. biggrin.gif

1. Preferred Brand - Anything
2. Budget - Maximum RM4299
3. Usage - Heavy gaming such as Crysis 3 and Battlefield 4
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 14" and above

I currently looking at :
lenovo y510p (single GPU)@RM3399
lenovo y510p (dual GPU)@RM3799
and MSI gaming series... MSI looks promising due to their specialization in gaming notebook such as better cooling system and etc...

Help me make decision please thanks !
