If I flash newer ROM, I lost my IMEI... unless I choose not to change modem... Lets say DroidTurk ROM, Sammy base, DME6 ROm... I choose not to install the modem... then I wont lost IMEI... If I choose the modem that the Rom provide... I lost my IMEI...

Only got it restored when I flash back to older stock rom....

It is because Note II is my official business phone and this is going to be helpful.

I've been searching for a proper working port if the "Optical Reader" apk (the guts behind the "Business Card" option). No joy so far (except one half working port for the S3), so unless Sammy is planning to give it to us in the official 4.3 release, cam card is as good as it gets.

Which is sad considering the Optical Reader can read multiple languages and pipe it up to s-translate, Jap included.

The one I have for Note 3 supports many different languages, includes Japanese as well.

What you are saying is exactly the same thing in the warning of post #1. The solution is there too. Have you gone through that?

Read and read over and over again... But still fail. So now I'm at stock ROM, no root, nothing. PURE STOCK. DLK5 modem with working IMEI and XXDMC3 based. So now what?

I cant flash any AOSP Rom or CM Rom, or even Sammy based custom ROM... Nevermind...

what's with you and dlk5 modem? other modems don't work on your phone?

Read the thread. Some people have problem flashing it. May have to copy manually and check the permission. Hope it works.

Planning to that. Cross flashing a CWM zip made for the another device (in this case the Note 3) will not end well.

Anyhow, I managed to get Optical Reader running, and no the Business Card shortcut is still missing. Probably needs the Note 3 phonebook as well. Optical Reader IS missing dictionaries for most of the languages though, and it seems I have to download Samsung Apps (ugh) to get them.

I don't know why people say Note II lags? I have never felt any lagging, the smoothness is comparable to my Note 3 as well.

Best one was that guy said when compared to OTHER phones that don't have any lag........ oh well........and all this ranting about "feel" is always extremely subjective.

i been using note 2 since 2nd september till now, it is in stock rom and original shape with tons of widget and icon,..
didnt feel any lag at all even when the ram running at 90%

I asked in a couple of places and also read other forums and understand that most of the hate has got nothing to do with substance but purely STYLE.

Almost always they say they hate plastic, and this I lay the blame squarely on fruitco for starting it. Next up is boring design. FFS tell me which notebook/laptop looks really different from another notebook/laptop?

What people cannot yet comprehend is that the smartphone should be treated like a computer, and a computer is already at a sort of plateau until maybe they bring out wireless mind reading/commands.....looks have really got nothing much to be changed, it's a rectangular slab of glass with a casing and electronics.....

i use to watch out of phone ram when using other android model, but when come to note 2,. i dont need to at all,. it didnt disappoint me at all,.
