QUOTE(un_id @ Sep 15 2013, 06:39 PM) Yeah got that.. Well I use an otterbox defender case. Uncle benny has seen it when we met before. That fits nicely into both my work pants and jeans. A naked note2 or note3 will slide in and out easily. My point is, imaginary experience. It amazed me. For me, I will compare side by side then I can tell.. XZU can go into my pocket, but it got in the way if I squat. Note 3 for sure can go in, but will it still got in the way if I squat? I even made MY OWN case with dimensions slightly smaller than the xzu to prove that I can pocket anything smaller than a Huawei Ascend Mate. I could pocket it but some pants made sitting a little uncomfortable due to the design of the pants. I did not bash the xzu nor denigrate it. All I said was that some have posted they can't fit it properly in their pants. You admit you have to take it out when sitting as well. |

QUOTE(kding2 @ Sep 15 2013, 11:52 PM) I see...there I shouldn't wait and should go ahead to buy Note 3 once it released? You cannot fear the coming of the next. Whatever you've laid out your money is that, just get the value from what you paid.I am asking this because I really afraid that octa or whatever core version out once I bought the Note 3. Why do you want the Octa core? |

QUOTE(kding2 @ Sep 16 2013, 12:02 AM) Because I thought 8 cores > 4 cores? Want to get the best, I guess? Well, at least this is what I thought for someone who is clueless about phone performance things. When it is apples to apples, yes, bigger numbers is better. However the 4 cores in the LTE Note 3 and the 8 cores in the 3G Note 3 are apples and oranges, so it is not an entirely valid comparison.Yes...bigger screen definitely is a plus. By the way, is it possible for the user to do multi-tasking with Note 3? I mean something like listening to youtube song while surfing the forum with Note 3? Having said that, the sad thing is that the Octa core has some performance and battery life issues, so perhaps its like you can hit 300km/h but you can only run for 50km before you run out of gas. The 4 core can hit maybe 280 km/h but can hit 80 or 100km before a top up. QUOTE(6306324278 @ Sep 16 2013, 12:02 AM) I just wonder, will the note 3 screen automatically dim off the screen when answering a call, like nokia 5800 does? I find your issue strange. This is screen off via the proximity sensor. It is on by default. I've never hit any buttons accidentally when using the Note 2 held to my face.because today i was using my gf's I5 to make a 5 minutes call. In this 5 minutes, I had accidentally pressed the speaker button twice, keypad once. OMG....I was just answering the call by putting the phone on my face. how come can I press the speaker and keypad button by only using my cheek? so I did complain to my gf, she said note 2 is the same, will not dim off the screen when u r answering and putting the phone onto ur face. I wonder will Note 3 the same? |

QUOTE(mudkipryan94 @ Sep 16 2013, 12:29 AM) OT: Samsung has certainly caught some grief over the way it has marketed the Exynos 5 Octa chip (5410) for smartphones and tablets since its introduction back in Q2 2013. The company placed a heavy promotional emphasis on the chip's eight cores as a source of superior performance and speed. And while yes, the chip does have eight physical cores, ARM's big.LITTLE architecture prevents all eight from firing up at once. The SoC either uses the Cortex-A7 cores or the Cortex-A15 cores, depending on the application. http://www.tomshardware.com/news/big.littl...eous,24205.html QUOTE(un_id @ Sep 16 2013, 12:30 AM) If I'm not mistaken, octa cores does not mean 8 cores, but instead 2 times 4 cores. Literally means, 2 quad core process running side by sides. Yes, but actually if properly implemented, it could allow complete control over how many cores are active at any one time, even up to all 8 cores active. One guy on XDA did it but I think his phone died completely after a few minutes.Anyway 5410 is 2 x 4. 5420 is supposed to allow the granular core control but then again, no Exynos source, no dev support. This time round the lack of documentation is really biting them in the ass. |

I may get the wireless charging back panel and test for the note3.http://www.amazon.com/LuguLake-Enabled-Ind...g/dp/B00CY4SG10 QUOTE(desmondk @ Sep 16 2013, 02:50 AM) Note 2 should be using gorilla glass2 so it would be expected for note3 to use at least the same, or even gg3 since it's 1mm slimmer. |

After watching the slashgear hands on for the Alcatel Hero and seeing no active digitizer, the only potential contender left is the Asus Fonepad Note. I think it will only appear another 2 months down the road.
HTC One Max only has a fingerprint sensor from what we currently know, and it was also leaked that the cpu is an s4 Pro instead of an s600 or s800. |
