Really impress with your renovation plan and everything look nice. Is all your furniture in yet? I just booked some bed set and sofa from Vonza in the HomeDec just now and to be delivered in a month time. I read from another thread that Vonza have a very bad service and etc just now. sad.gif
Hope to get feedback from you too if you got your bed set from them.

My mattress and bedsets are coming in 2 days time (tue). The guy who served me was ok and accommodating to some of my special requests. I have also made a last minutes request to postposned the scheduled delivery...due to haven't done the cleansing (chinese way of throwing rice to 4 corners)....

Pls stay tuned and I will update you guys after the delivery...kinda worry if they send the right thing per my request or not...coz i'm not taking the combination per their standard package. Hope things gonna be fine...

Guys, you really can't underestimate the total spending....
Just when I thought the horrible spending spree has almost comes to the end, today spent again another close to rm2k in a kitchenware warehouse sales and Homedec last-minute-shopping, buying those small small things that you probably will not factor into your budget planning. Bought a Brabantia ironing board, varios sizes of glassware and wine glasses, pots, air tight containers, floor mats, velvet cloth hangers, table utensils, etc. Nearly bought the Philips air fryer too if not they were out of stock on the black color ones...

Now that I realise that I've yet to buy my pingan-mangkuk, waste bin and another audio system for study room.... sweat.gif

My Vonza/decor-point's mattress and bed divan sets came in this afternoon as scheduled. Those are bought in Homedec one year ago. tongue.gif
Every parts is correct despite mine is of a different combination from their standard promotional package.
For those who didn't know, there is a thread in LYN specially talked about the bad services from Vonza or their another division, Decor-point. Mine is under Decor-point. Thank God, I'm lucky again this time!! whistling.gif

Bought a king and a queen size each. Both pocket springs mattress with toppers are from Goodnite. Head boards and divans are good and nice too. Foc a matching color bench chair and 4pcs memory pillows.

This is how's the original bench looks, which the sales guy was throwing in foc for my purchase. As you can see from the first pic above, they've sent me another bench design which is very much out of my surprise that it is actually of better quality! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

So, here ends my worries on the beds.... sweat.gif

do you ave any aircon compressor placed at the front facade of your house? if so how do you "conceal" or hide them? making them less obvious..
*
Yup, 3 compressors at front of house but nope, not hiding it as they don't bother me... cool2.gif

Oooo...you went for the Kitchen Shop warehouse sales? I'm so jealous! A lot of nice, branded cookware on sale. Btw, u mentioned waste bin. Did you not like the brabantia bins? With a ten year warranty, I felt it was worth the investment! The floor mats you mentioned are the memory foam floor mats? Also very nice to use. But...so much stuff for only 2k? Wow...really worth it. Do show off some of ur purchases  rclxms.gif

Btw, very nice and matching stool. I'm glad they had the sense not to send u the red one cos it would be so out of place in ur home tongue.gif
*
Yup, went to their warehouse sales. Btw, i think they have too frequent 'warehouse sales'. It's like once quaterly... hmm.gif

I didn't get any stockpot, wok or frying pan coz I have already bought some before this. Bought a 3L Luminarc casserole pot, Brabantia ironing board, Brabantia turner, many Décor Tellfresh airtight containers, Glasslock tempered glass containers and the rest are glassware in various types and sizes.

Didn't buy the bin as the left over was kinda like seriously dented.... Well, I haven't decide yet on what type or brand of bin to get. However, it's definitely not Brabantia touch bin, being a mysophobia myself, I'm not gonna touch a bin each time using it....i can imagine trillions of germs on it's cap.... So, a pedal bin or sensored ones suits me more... hmm.gif

On the same day evening, rushed to last day of Homedec and bought some Casanovas memory floor mats, velvet cloth hangers and some table utensils.

About the bench chair, they already mentioned that it will be the same color of my headboard. My surprise was the good quality bench they sent me, which is different than the ones I saw during the fair last year. tongue.gif
I'm not sure the bench matches my room or not...gonna see how is it after putting in every other things and the bed sheet. If it doesn't match, I can just simply relocate it. However, my husband quite likes it as he says modern mix vintage has a bit character wor.... tongue.gif

have to be careful with warehouse sales.  sales and fairs are hopeless sometimes. it's just an opportunity to get more business. the only good part is, you see a lot of brands in the same venue. save some petrol.  rclxms.gif
*
Agreed, have to be very conscious and should avoid impulse purchase. There are so many fairs all year round, really don't need to rush into purchasing decision. The problem is, we tend to get excited when we about to start reno or some even start buying before getting key.... Hahaha...

In summary, WOW very siok read all at one go and more importantly to see the lovely progress happening in your home ... LOVE your kitchen, LOVE the ventilation block (i was looking for such supplier earlier) ... and finally got to see where you place the washer - I'm planning to have the same concept at my laundry cum drying area and thanks to you I have a better visual in my head now smile.gif

Your home is perfect as I see it ... so keep up the good job and not let anyone or any unnecessary negative comments spoil your day ya smile.gif

btw can u show us where u place the peranakan tiles?
*
Thanks for following this thread and your kind comliments... biggrin.gif
It really made my day! I'm replying late as I was searching high and low for a pic of my peranakan tiles at entrance foyer but coudn't find one in the phone...

Perhaps, I should wait till it's more furnished and decorated later to show the pic, otherwise too many repeated pics on the same area... tongue.gif

Thanks guys! Just moved in yesterday and in the midst of getting use to the new house now... Still have many things to tidy up and still lots of many small small things to buy... moneyflies.gif
Darn tired physically these few days doing the house cleaning, packing, moving, unpacking, organizing, etc. I definitely need a good massage therapy after all these hard works.
However, I finally understand the feeling of "it's worth all the hard works and efforts", which was heard from my friends and other LYN members who have gone thru the same process. biggrin.gif

May I know where did you buy this floor trap? It cost RM23.50? Thanks.
*
QUOTE(chocolatewhore @ Jun 2 2014, 03:48 PM)
just a warning: this floor trap looks good, but drainage is terrible. my contractor mistakenly installed it in my shower area and the water can't go down fast enough.

you can buy it at Builders Hardware, Kepong.

QUOTE(sovietmah @ Jun 2 2014, 04:14 PM)
Ya, have to clean it more often.
I had very short hair, just need to clean it once per every 2 weeks.
but my wife hair is long, 2 day then stucked.
*
Mine were given by the contractor. I've seen similar in Ga Hing but it was other brand which cost slightly under twenty. So far, been using it for around 3 weeks with no problem at all. I have shoulder length hair while my husband has very short hair. Both of us bath ourselves at least twice daily and i wash my hair once daily. The water flows very fast even that we are using 2'x2' Niro tiles for the bathroom. I'll try to take a video of its flow if I'm able to upload it here later. Will also post the update here in future when I first got my floor trap 'stuck'... so you guys gonna have an idea on how's its performance.

Hi maxxon! Lovely renovation work, thanks for sharing! Would you mind telling how you achieved the rendered cement effect for your bedroom wall and how much it costed you? I read a mention of sand blocks? If its by the contractor could you please share the contact? Many thanks smile.gif
*
QUOTE(maxxon @ Apr 22 2014, 02:38 PM)
Long story regarding the wall actually....
Tried a couple of methods with cement and also plastering material...not successful though. Sometimes with weird patches after it totally dried out...sometimes with 'dusty' surface...sometimes with very fine hairline-crack after dried...
It is easier to get the result on a wooden platform but all kind of surprises will occurs when it dries on a wall after days.... Others may accept the hairline-crack as it is still consider very fine but I do not want it that 'raw' as this is still a bedroom and I afraid I would be regretted it one day.

Thus, I decided to go simpler with San Cora textured wall paint, UNO series. The primer layer is now done but pending the top layer. Will show pics when things done. wink.gif
*
Here's some further updates on the earlier attempt to do the cement-rendering-effect on one of my master bedroom's wall.
After several tries, we finally settled with San cora's textured paint. The series that we used was Italia UNO (matte) which the effect is very close to the stone texture. I trulylove love love the wall very much with it's shade and texture it creates!! rclxm9.gif

Hi, congratulation on the move in.
Mind sharing how much & where you buy your dining table & chairs?
Thanks
*
Thanks..

I just 'mix and match' the dining chairs and the table actually. They are bought from different places.. biggrin.gif

Table and bench are from Cellini, priced at RM3900. I've got it a few hundred cheaper as some discount were given due to some miss-communication of their staff. tongue.gif
The table top is a very heavy piece of quartz supported by solid wood base. They have some matching chairs as a set but I just bought the table and bench. The bench is made of solid wood too. Very strong and stable, not shaky at all!

Those 2 chairs were bought at a shop in Bandar Puteri Puchong near Avalon Lighting. RM600 each. Very nice solid wood chair with the color matches my table and bench! rclxms.gif

Thanks! These are the 'wooden toys' that I mentioned before... tongue.gif
They can even support adult's weight as they are made of solid wood and reinforced with metal legs (for the horse).

Congratulations maxxon!!! Lovely house you have there~

Where did you buy the suar wood coffee table? Or is it some other kind of wood? I've been looking for something similar too (perhaps a bit longer) tongue.gif

Very nice chandelier above your dining table~
*
Yup, it's suar wood. The coffee table was kinda like custom made. The supplier shown me the random piece of this particular size wood and I later got him to make the stainless steel legs for me... As it is kinda 'petite', I just simply paired it with a cube made of coconut shells. tongue.gif

I love the chandelier very much too myself but my sis said they look messy...hmm, i think this particular light is only either you love it, or dislike it.. brows.gif

Was it difficult to paint? Did you use the same guys who painted the rest of your house? Could you also PM me the pricing (for the paint itself and labour charges) as well?

I'm 90% sure i'm going to use the same paint for my upcoming renovation because I just love the texture and colour!
*
The wall was done by the contractor's worker who did my entire hse painting too... They took a few hrs on that. Instead of using brush, they use a scraper like shown in earlier post to achieve the effect...Haven't got the final bill so no idea on the workmanship charges yet... Where as for the paint material, it should be less than rm300 for my wall... Yes the effect is very nice and i personally think that I will probably less likely to get bored of it so soon compared to the brush stroke shimmering type.... tongue.gif
