Hyper 48 is not a real peformer...
Might as well go for Thermalright XP-90C, but dunno if RLHH still have it or not... sweat.gif

Or, if you could find any XP-120, that should do it... thumbup.gif

***You should close you're thread...
If you don't know how, go to bottom of the page, then find "Moderation Option" on the bottom, left of the page, then click "Close This Topic" then, click the "Go" button... thumbup.gif

@albirri

some of your question I can't answer confidently because experience gained is varied from a person to another person during tinkering with each own computer.

However, I think most people using Artic Silver thermal paste.

Regarding to the BIOS, yup you maybe need to flash to a new BIOS revision, if any. Check the mainboard manufacturer's website for these information. By the way, I recommend you to check the mainboard circuitry, including sensor chip for any anomality.

Personally, I use Motherboard Monitor as temp reader. It is quite good if you do the setting in the right way. Read the manual first.

I wonder if you are architecture student at UIA Gombak, but I puzzled why don't u use professional workstation graphic card from Nvidia or ATI, such as Quadro series? Maybe you also play game  wink.gif

Hmm, anyway, geforce6800 Ultra is a nice card smile.gif

Yeah, I'm architecture student, 4th year...heavy duty with all that 3D thing, and gaming also...that's why i took 6800 ultra, some of my friends are using quadro...I'll try to flash my bios and will see...

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone could shed some light on heatpipes. Will the heat transfer via XP-90c's heatpipes be affected if I mount it upside down? Ie the heat pipes facing vertically upwards?

Source:

Heat pipes work on the principle of evaporation and condensation. A working fluid (frequently distilled water) evaporates inside one end of the heat pipe (the hot-end) absorbing heat in the process. A partial vacuum inside the heat pipe allows the water to evaporate at a specific low temperature. Once formed, the water vapor diffuses from an area of high vapor pressure (where it is being generated) to the other end of the tube where the vapor pressure is lower.

The vaporized fluid then condenses back to liquid (cold-end) and the heat is dissipated into the air from the metal cooling fins. The working fluid returns to the hot end via capillary action thru an internal wicking structure (sintered metal coating, fine wire mesh, or grooves) so the heat pipe does not have to rely on gravity to recycle the working fluid.

DOH! Silly me answering my own questions. Sorry guys

Hmm...cos I remembered reading how some people liked to mount their motherboards upside down (and some asus motherboards used heatpipes to cool their northbridges). But i remembered some people in the case modification forums saying how they couldn't do that cos of the heatpipes...

Forgive me for asking this..
RM183?

Isn't sound so high?

RLHH is selling that XP90 C for RM125 for the heatsink + RM25 for the LGA775 RM...

That means RM150 for the heatsink together with the LGA775 RM...

Err...
Wanna tell us why the price is RM183? blink.gif

Ninja?
Ehh, i thought you've said earlier that ninja can't be fitted in you're casing...

Or, have you changed you're casing? shocking.gif

Wanna tell us what casing are you using now? brows.gif
