QUOTE(raist86 @ May 18 2007, 05:28 PM) erm, wanna ask opinion here. Want to get a good heatsink for my "soon to be here (hopefully next week)" E6600 proc. After reading all the reviews and stuff, narrowed down my choice to ultra 120 extreme, noctua UH-12F, TTBTVX and Enzotech. I'm willing to spend, but of course not spend until so much la. Which cooler should i go for? i'll be pushing the proc abit.. (not extreme). If you are asking for performance/price ratio wise, i would say its either TTBTVX or the Noctua. I have personally research for a while now between the Noctua and TR. TR coolers are great performers, at least in my point of view. They are great but also come at a hefty price tag.Not to mention you will need to get a fan for it as well as maybe some adapters if you have trouble fixing it to your mobo..which cooler has a good price/performance ratio? ultra120 extreme doesn't come with a fan rite? In Enzotech, reviews has shown that it is a good cooler, beating Noctua and TR as well. The problem is, no one is selling it here in Malaysia. There was once a bulk but too bad, after calculation and stuff, it might cost up to RM300+ which caused it to become an unreasonable purchase. If i were you, TTBTVX should be the one to purchase for coming at a low price but performing up to those big guns. Else, Noctua is also a very very good HSF as well...Silent and reasonably priced in a package.. |

Thinking of replacing my current HSF when my salary arrives. Anyone have any recommendation for a HSF below RM200 and performs well?
I do not want any from TR, Noctua and the TTBTVX though cause they seem to be the common recommendation..lol..Looking for something like the UltraX or something that performs well. Any idea? |

QUOTE(kmarc @ May 26 2007, 05:10 PM) May I ask why not thermalright? How about scythe coolers e.g. infinity, ninja? Well, first of all, i kinda like TR products. But to be honest, they are really highly priced. Yea, they perform well thats why they are expensive but i am no hardcore overclocker. Besides that, they are always very troublesome on K8 socket board. Need to buy additional adapter and fans as well.. Too expensive to be taken into account..Have you seen the review on Ultra-120 extreme? http://www.anandtech.com/casecooling/showdoc.aspx?i=2981&p=3 I have seen the Ultra 120 Extreme but i wana check and try out other cheaper ones that performs maybe as well as the Extreme.. QUOTE(toughnut @ May 26 2007, 05:16 PM) UltraX? it cost more than rm300 Yea. The UltraX is really overpriced which makes me make a step back always. I have been looking at the SS NT06 as well but some have said its not working as good as it seems..GeminII is really high on my list now. Wondering how good it is if i am using 2 FM121 on it..lol...for rm200 and not the brand u specified, can try CM GeminII. but once u see the product, u might get shocked lol. price rm150 without fan |

Yea, i saw the Tuniq and quite interested IF its including tax as well. Will keep an eye on that .. How about the ThermalTake V1?Anyone know how good it is?I saw that on windwithme review and it does look good...lol.. |

QUOTE(E-J@1 @ May 26 2007, 06:41 PM) haiya, if wanna go for GeminiII --> dump ur Dominator fan lor, 120mm cfm fan from GeminiII is already enough LOL..I dont wanna dump the Dominator Fan. It looks nice for me. GeminII seems really nice to me and I really thought of getting the FM121 to pair with the GeminII.. |

Keeping my choices open so that i could get something that is better than that..LOL..Still cant really understand why you dont want noctua |

QUOTE(DaRkSyThE @ May 28 2007, 09:27 AM) For once, i did look at Asus Silent Knight but gosh, they are heavily over-priced and yet doesnt perform anywhere near those good cooler..So, i gave up..lol..Currently, i have these few in mind : Noctua NH-U12F Zalman CNPS9700NT Thermalright Ultra120 Tuniq Tower 120 (Dont really like the design) Enzotech UltraX Silverstone NT06.. Will make a decision when i get off my Fatal1ty first..lol.. This post has been edited by akachester: May 29 2007, 08:10 PM |

QUOTE(DaRkSyThE @ May 29 2007, 08:11 PM) i mean if u base ur choices on those few, id say go for Tuniq since its performance in many reviews are constant and many people are using it worldwide without any complaints. Yea, i really love to give the UltraX a try but too bad..Too expensive. I know Tuniq Tower performs but I am not sure why i really dont like the design of it. Looking at the bulk section, the price its going is really tempting. Thats why i have it in the list..lol...Wondering what it could do if i couple it together with my FM121...the ultra EX also seems very promising. silverstone NT06? nono. stay iff that. not as good as u think it is. |

QUOTE(LExus65 @ May 30 2007, 07:59 AM) Noctua NH-U12F Well, casing space shouldnt be any problem with my LL for now..The only thing i am concern about is blockage to other slots and especially towards my ram and dominator cooler..Every thing must fit nicely in order for me to get it..Zalman CNPS9700NT Thermalright Ultra120 Tuniq Tower 120 Enzotech UltraX all above are tower like, beware of casing space Silverstone NT06..is the only one flat |

LOL..So many problems with tower heatsink..
Anyway, thanks for the recommendation here guys. Have a long thought and just decided to make up my mind. I will halt this CPU Cooler upgrade for another month as i really wanna go heads up on a new 8800GTS for the moment..Aiks..Hopefully by that time, there is still some good deal on the Tuniq which is really interesting.. |

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Jun 1 2007, 09:20 PM) New heatsinks from thermalright. Looks so much like the Ultra120. Seems to be a great cooler and not to mention, for the first time its going to be coupled with a fan..Thermalright Ultima 90I & Thermalright Ultima 90A Thermalright Ultima 90I for Intel Official Website: http://www.thermalright.com/a_page/main_pr..._Ultima_90I.htm Thermalright Ultima 90A for AMD Official Website: http://www.thermalright.com/a_page/main_pr..._Ultima_90A.htm |

Well, my cousin just got the TR HR01 for his system, ditching the CNPS9500 away for now..LOL...And to my wonder, it performs so well in his Opteron. His Opteron 165 at stock is idling at a great 31c only which is previously about 38-39c at his Zalman..
Dont be fooled by the white fan, they are just some normal fans painted in white color..LOL... ![]() ![]() |

QUOTE(kmarc @ Jun 3 2007, 11:32 AM) Wow! Real nice. How does the heatsink perform compared to the zalman (idle and load for both heatsinks)? Wahha..Dont ask me. Its not my PC. Anyway, white seems good with me.Give me the Silverstone feel..LOL..Not sure about Load though but on IDLE, its 31c on the TR with Push Pull configuration and 38c on Zalman CNPS 9500. Load on Zalman would reach around 45 - 48c at times. Unknown and untested on the TR...Why white? Paint gold or silver nicer what.... |
