The TR combination mobo looks absolutely gorgeous..

Come to think about it, it aint a bad idea you know the gigantic HSF. For very hot proc, you can always use that HSF and convert it into a nice BBQ grill..LOL..

Well, even the design might look unpopular, the casing itself is connected with the processor really looks useful. Just find a big fan and blow the casing, you will have a low temperature proc..

ok, btw Tuniq, Noctua and Ninja, which 1 is the best if setting it as passive cooler(using low cfm,low dB fan)?

If you wanted a HSF with Fan but low noise, you wont get wrong with Noctua NH-U12F. The fan is great, and at the same time, no noise at all. Heard recommendation for the HSF which seems to perform well. Maybe you could check it out..

But, if you wanted something to be absolutely fanless, passive setup, i do recommend going for the TR HR-01. Saw some really good results from my cousin's setup and if in the future you wanted to coupled it together with a fan, you can see some amazing results..His HR-01 on Push-Pull configuration can go as low as 30c during the night on his Opteron 165 (at stock)..

Look quite similar with Zalman CNPS9700 NT....
But Auras, what brand is that?  blush.gif

LOL..I am wondering that myself..

Anyway, the design seems really weird but in the other side, does seem to make some sense to me though..For now, i would leave those coolers that have built in fan. Dont like it when the fan died...

I am looking into the Ultra120 as a replacement for my CPU cooler as well...LOL..

Anyway, in the meantime, do you guys know how could i force my CPU cooler's fan to run at full speed all the time?I couldnt seem to find a software to do so..

Tried using fan controller before but wouldnt work. Fan would not turn. Therefore, looking into the software way though..I can see the fan is only turning for about 1k RPM when i turn on my PC. Causes my processor to be around 45c during idle...Wanted it to go lower than this..

Don't understand. Why can't you use speedfan to control the CPU fan speed? Just set the fan to run at 100% only.....  hmm.gif
*
O..Speedfan could do that?Didnt know that though..LOL.. blush.gif

Yup. In configure>speeds.

Set the minimum CPU fan speed to 100% and walaa! Your fan will run at 100%!!!  thumbup.gif

Just wondering, which is the CPU fan speed?I have 5 different speed here :

Speed 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Usually what I do is change the fan speed to 0% and see which fan stops spinning.

You can vary the fan speed in the first page (main page). Make sure the "automatic fan speed" is unchecked.

Once you've identified the fan, you can change the name in the configuration menu to something like "CPU fan".

Question: Why do you want to run at 100% even at idle? You can set the fan to run at 100% if your CPU temp reach a certain temperature ma..... e.g. CPU fan at 100% when CPU temp reaches 40'c.

You can do this in configure>temperatures. Look at your CPU temperature setting and set the desired temperature. Let's say you set it at 40'c. So, once the CPU temperature goes above 40' the fan will speed up to you max setting (which you should set at 100%). For this you need to set the minimum fan speed to something ilke 40%..... or faster or slower depending on your desire....

For this option also, you need to check the "automatic fan speed"....

Hope this helps!  thumbup.gif

Well, for a first, my Zalman is not performing really well. There are times when my Opteron are idling at around 45c on a hot day. Might be due to the low fan speed cause it will auto adjust the fan speed. Currently, its only running at a mere 900+ rpm. I do feel it could do better at this and wanted it to run at max. This will allow me to see how well it could perform before i decide to get another HSF for the CPU..

Yea, thats undeniable..

Anyway, does the design of the Ultra120 extreme exactly the same with the Ultra120 (with addition of a few heatpipes)?

I am wondering, had anyone tried push-pull configuration on Extreme 120 and how good it will be?

Well, for one, there are some people who prefer passive cooling though and this is one of them that can do wonders..

The HR01 is already one of the very know passive cooler around. Wonder how well would this PLUS version performs..

TR HR-01 would performs worst that Golden Orb ??

Can't believed it ... I never tried Golden Orb

however I could said that HR-01 isn't just meant for passive only ..

if u got the latest version which released on end of last year ..

the cooler comes with fan clips as well .. so attach it to the cooler with nice quiet fan such as Nortua .. U could get decent performance with quiet condition ...
*
Exactly. My cousin recently last time purchase the HR-01 and it comes with fan clips as well. Added a push - pull configuration and its really impressive.

2 fans, one on each side (with one fan pulling air, another pushing air out)..
