hurmm... zalman 9500 with 65c on loads....

the temps should be like this or just the pentium d are so hot?  unsure.gif  me buta intel sket...huhu..

vey99: what's ur CPU temp before using stocks intel HSF? smile.gif
*
I never measured the stock HSF because main reason I got Zalman was cos the stock HSF was so freakin noisy I ripped it out and sent it to the bin...

But for sure I clean the cpu nicely before apply Arctic Silver 5 (as per website instruction). The worse thing is my D830 is brand new and I cannot do overnight video encodes like I used to cry.gif

The very best part is, I had it at Idle: 35C, Load: 60C BEFORE I put in AS5 (using Zalman provided thermal paste).

For reference I also bought a tube of Coolermaster Nanofusion Thermal Paste and tested 2days, also IDLE: 42C, Load: 65C+

Going crazy oredi....

Couple of days ago I setup my rig to have 12cm intake fan, 12 cm exhaust fan
No change in temperatures... does that mean that the airflow is oredi sufficient?

In fact for the Intel Thermally Advantaged Chassis design (airguide on side panel and also vents above the PCI slots) maybe there is no advantage of intake fan except for cooling the HDD?

Anyway update my rig temps

vey99 / Pentium D 830 3.0GHz / Zalman CNPS9500 w/ AS5 / idle: 36C, load: 62C ambient 33C (aircon room)
