Purple tint problem not only on htc one. But I agreed this time really bad because up to 85 percent of device having this problem. Try to get latest batch of handset. You will know with serial number. Also make deal with seller one to one exchange is allowed.

Sometimes is service provider problem. I had this problem with digi last time. No way to resolve until I changed to u mobile. You should try other SIM card, or try to observe some other time like morning and night, or other area. That will tell the maxis service provider is good in your area or not.

The 85 percent is not come from my mind but survey from xda forum. Everywhere around the world having purple tint problem but not only htc Malaysia. You can go to Taiwan website too. Same happen to them. Some are lucky enough even you can get no defect unit from Malaysia but not only Australia.

I have checked many forum. Uk, US, Europe.. All having same problem.

I have multiple phones so this is a small matter to me but I will not trust HTC Malaysia (SIS) for any repairs.
They already screw up my phone as far as I can tell with the brief moment I have with it before it is sent off again.
So I am playing the waiting game and see if they gave me a new set or just fix it again.  and if it is fixed again with superglue sticking out from the sides. I will send it back again and again and I have SengHeng insurance , after 1 year I will just bug SH to give me a Samsung S5 or something of 2099 value.

Sad! SIS must be Kelana Jaya center? I start worry now... My phone is with them now.

I called the toll free today after the UPS collected from me on 9th Oct (last wed).

I think this is the big problem of HTC service. The Operator doesnt know anything and need to ask the technician. I wait for 2-3 mins. The answer is:-

"Sorry I cannot get any updates from them. They are starting diagnose the your phone today. They will need to spend 4 days to fix it. Because yesterday is public holiday, only they will provide status update by end of today. You may call back later."


Last week 8th Oct when I called them, they told me 4 days to fix the purple tint problem. Today, sound like they just start look at my phone. Bullshit.

With the way they provide support, HTC, please prepare to be loser in phone market.

Only KL has service center... And southern and northern region of customer will need to always rely on operators 1800889855 who doesnt know anything and talk blah blah blah ....

Pity HTC.. Now I understand why so many people complain here... No doubt, HTC ONE is the best in my mind.. but with such services, i will need to say NO NO to them.

Dont forget, one day the battery will be run out and needs to be replaced, are you expecting me send thru courier again and wait for few weeks?

As I said, if I know SIS Penang was closed up, I am not going to buy it. I am regret.

If you dont have spare part, please dont ask people to send in to you. So, the operator has no idea about spare part. They just blindly ask you send in.

Lucky to KL customer, at least you can reach to service center directly.

I call htc operator today. After provide the imei, and they asked me to wait for five mins. Then the answer is "technician still assess your phone, please call back next Monday."

After one week, still assessing... I make it very clear just purple tint problem. What kind of assessment? I can sense they simply answered for the sake of responding.

Wait until next week, my phone will be two weeks in service center.

Is this common to other brand of smart phone as well? Is it the same that Galaxy S4 / Note3 / iphone5/5s camera cannot take the heat as well?

If not, HTC should not make this an excuse that the purple tint due to end user using the phone too hot.

This is unacceptable especially we paid for RM2299.

Hi Owen,

I know you are HTC supporter. We all here same as well. Very lucky your camera has no problem. I am glad you dont have this problem.

But, the knife haven't cut the skin and no way you can feel the pain as what we having now. The phone got defect, I dont blame HTC. Nothing is perfect. The problem is the way HTC service center serve customer really awful.

At first, before I sent in my phone to them, I thought it could be people in this forum over sensitive. But then after called the HTC dumb operator 3 times for follow up, they give me same question 'Technician are assessing your phone'. Furthermore, those customers not from KL, will never reach the service center, and only can talk to HTC Operator who not really handle your phone problem but talk shit. we just like talk to the air and will never know when the phone will deliver back. Hope you understand our feelings. I got no smart phone that I fully rely it everyday for traffic jam (waze), Business email reading.

I dont blame user complaining here. Take it positively. They share their experience so the new buyer will aware of the issue and prevent the same problem we are facing now.

Dont take it negatively.

HTC operator asked me to call next Monday... Not I want to chase them. This is what they committed to me that will update me the status. I will let you know the answer they will give tomorrow.
