I called htc operator today. And here is the story they gave to me.

Operator: Hi mr, your phone is at final step means the technician perform the verification.

Me: what is final verification? Have they replace my camera?

Operator: yes they have replaced for you but unfortunately first time not working after the test. Now they have to reopen and fix the problem again because the camera still purple.

Me: ok. Please tell me me the estimate time they will complete the repair

Operator: once your phone is fixed and ready to return back to you, the courier guy will send back to you. The ups guy will call you. Can you call back next Monday? Will provide you status update.
(didnt answer my question. If next week, means third week. rclxub.gif )

Me: why my phone sent to kelana jaya? But not bts?

Operator: mr, it is based on courier. Different courier different sc.

Me: I will call back end of this week to check status.

Operator: you are welcome sir.



That's it. Means I will have to wait for one more week. But not to get the phone .. Only get latest update.

Three years ago when I sent in my htc diamond 2 to claim warranty. They told me warranty void due to custom rom found. I took it back, flash the original rom ruu. Send back to them after two weeks. They they allowed me to claim warranty.

You walked in and it took you 18 days to fix it. Three weeks. If I can get my phone back in 4th week thru courier means I will be lucky enough.

Got any scratch or any gap?

What parts have been replaced in order to fix your camera issue?

Can you ask to return you without fix? Then lock the bootloader and restore the original ROM and send back to them?

Yeah, better wait for one or two months time. Now is peak season i believe they have too many phones need to be fixed.

Maybe after 2-3 months, you dont need to wait 3 to 4 weeks for repairing.

They are not right. Because his HTC One was already faulty before he unlocked the bootloader. He just didn't know it.

I will suggest the owner sell the phone better. The htc can claim that the owner has flashed the problematic rom or firmware that has rise the heat or voltage or whatever over lock that spoilt the camera. I am afraid not easy to win. hmm.gif

Basically they know nothing. Dont bug them too frequent or they may play play with you but not really expedite for you. Call them after 3 to 4 days is OK. They just a messenger pass message to you. Nothing much they can help. Go to center directly will be the best.

What is your serial number of your phone? That will tell if you get new batch. If older one. Then better send for warranty. HTC39x .... 9 means septemper. 3 means 2013. Aug / Sep / Oct batch should be good.

I would say potentially this might be a defect camera. I heard only September onwards batch of camera are good.

We just guess but not hundred percent confirmed. Mine April batch got problem. But minority has no problem. If you cannot check cine sensor date, wild guess on serial number.

Ok. Unexpectedly, I got my phone back. Took 16 days to fix. Consider good enough. No scratch no gap. But a bit dirty when received. Need to clean it with wet cloth.

Cinesensor now is 2013-09-25. Imei and serial number same. Means motherboard has not been replaced but only camera..

New problem surfaced. No more purplish problem but reddish in the middle of camera when take photo in low light env. Place on the flat area totally black.
