Simple answer, No! Rolex does not produce limited edition watches, there will be thousands produced typically.

Unfortunately, for the BLNR, the demand exceeds supply. Most ADs have taken this model off their shelf, and even if you want to get them, they go for higher than retail. Last time I asked, it was in the RM30k region. Retail is RM27-28k; can't remember the exact price.

Well, perhaps beyond 2014 too. Who knows.

Anyways if you compare the previous black ceramic and this blue-black ceramic model, it's just a two-part different, the bezel color and GMT hand color, green vs blue. Just maybe you can consider buying a 2nd hand black bezel at cheap price and have the bezel and GMT hand parts changed via RSC. I think the total cost (buy 2nd hand black ceramic + swap the two parts ) will be cheaper than buying a brand new blue-black model.

Just my 2 sen.

Wow... Thanks for the hands on picture! Stunning watch there, I love the fact that it has the blue glow in the dark smile.gif What does BLNR stands for?

you cannot simply buy a second hand ceramic bezel, and its definitely not at a cheap price...somewhere around rm5k.
so yes, the cost diff is still cheaper than buying a brand new black/blue...but its still not cheap.

I don't think Rolex is going to swap out a black bezel for a different colored one. Anyway, not easy to get parts from sources other than Rolex themselves, or so I've heard.

No, I believe Rolex will not just sell you the BLNR bezel, if you don't already have one. Of course, aftermarket is an option, but I don't really see the point. You'd have to swap one of the hands too.

But again, I don't see the point.

This is perfectly permissible from Rolex policy because you're requesting for part change within the same model. Let me give you an example. In the previous model before the current ceramic bezel insert/inlay, the GMT II stainless steel model (1675, 16700, 16750, 16710) comes in 3 aluminium colored inserts, blue-red aka Pepsi, red-black aka Coke and regular black. You can go to RSC and purchase additional inserts to the one you currently have, though at RSC Malaysia specifically I'm not sure if they will retain the one you are swapping out. In other parts of the world, based on my experience they let you keep it thumbup.gif

As for current ceramic model (116710) the same policy should also apply because Rolex does offer the watch in two insert colors, black and blue-black. The black insert is still being offered and no official announcement about it being discontinued.

So, my points then are it is legit, parts can be sourced via official RSC or other watchmakers, and also most importantly cost saving rather than buying a new one at above retail price when it's just insert and GMT hand color changes. icon_rolleyes.gif
