Haha I already said i'm the last collected the rebate. A partial of my last transaction got rebate. But I wonder if anyone else get partial rebate for their last transaction. Care to share here? If yes, then we can complain because it's IMPOSSIBLE 2 person get partial rebate. My last transaction is 15th Mar 2014

No choice. Actually UOB One cashback credit card is the best petrol cashback in the credit card line, albeit some stupid limitation such as capped 45k. Even Hong Leong mach requires RM50 per transaction, and 10 swipes a month (every swipe RM50 above) to be entitled to 10%. Lousiest, you nid to swipe accurately RM500 coz the max cashback a mth is RM50. Citibank Shell credit card also pretty stupid coz only at shell and has a catch where other retail transactions determine your petrol cashback limit.

For those of us in the poor line, UOB is the best we can afford. CIMB Petronas Gold is better, however 5% on the 1st week and 2% for subsequent weeks. If you average out, you get lesser than 5%, around 3% max. UOB is good altho they don't rebate you after 45k capped, your average sure 3% (Based on RM150 per month, my car Perodua Viva). Added to the UOB Smart Cash 2% at BHP(after 30 April), cashback still consider higher.

As such, UOB is more efficient for those of us who don't own a big car and can't afford to pump full tank above Rm100 (split RM50-RM50 for 2 swipes)

So, Which One Better...???
CT Cash Back Plat. OR UOB One Card & If  You Which Card You will Take ... ???  hmm.gif
I Would Like Know Also... brows.gif
*
Advantages of UOB One
1) CT Cash back does not reflect immediately on statements. UOB One card does

2) CT Cash Back Plat is 5%. For UOB One, if you pump at BHP, the average per month is usually 5.5% (3.5% avg + 2%) if you pump most before 15th and less after 15th.

3) UOB One got 10% (5+5) cash back at GSC 7 days a week. CT cashback don't have

4) Collectible Smart$ rebates are good since you can collect them. Good for future use at certain smart merchants

5) UOB One visa salary requirement 24k. CT CashBack 40k...stumbling block for new grads.

6) Low annual fee in case bank doesn't waive. CT Cashback RM195. If don't waive, you cry.

Advantages of CT Plat
1) Free complimentary insurance coverage. Very useful if card drops. UOB must pay for the insurance.

2) Reimbursement of money if product is unsatisfactory. Very good point.

3) 5% cash back petrol for all pumps. Useful. No nid hunt for BHP

4) Senheng gives up to 24 months 0% payment plan. UOB only 12 months.

5) Citibank got more merchant partners. Very good for discounts when eat out. Many places with Citibank logos. UOB very few.

UOB now has 5% cashback (first 20 days of the month i assume) + 5% smart rebate (capped at rm400 i heard) at BHP.. so it's still 10% cashback if u count carefully..
however the 5% smart rebate will be over after 30 april.. so till then.. earn as many rebates as we could smile.gif

this is not an advantage of ct plat. uob 5% cb petrol also for all pumps. additional 5% smart$ if you pump at bhp. after april back to normal 2% smart$ at bhp.

Oh ya!! My bad my bad. Mistaken. Hahahaha then it's not an advantage. tongue.gif

I Do Agreed with You Both... nod.gif
As For for Myself even I Got Both Cards, I Prefer UOB More than Citi Coz  UOB Credit Rebate to Us $$$ Masuk ke Account Every Month, as Citibank have to Wait the Cash Rebate Sampai RM50  baru Credit to the Account ... sweat.gif
*
Actually, there's a reason citibank does this. I'm not sure if I'm right. Any citi users can explain on this. My guess for letting us wait RM50 is because some months, we don't achieve RM50. So when it's nearing year end, they can use the cashback (not yet reach RM50) to offset the RM50 gst. Additional they call it waiver. This my my opinion though. Any users can verify?

Just Called for AF waiver for My Citi CB, they Never Mention that we can Use the Rebate Accumulation to Offset AF or GST.... blink.gif
the Reason I Regularly used UOB Card coz I go  to Work by Motorbike... the Fuel Consumption Tiada Banyak, Petrol Rebate should be Less, so the $50 Accumulation thing Not My Preference... if Have to Kumpul Until When will get
$50 Cash Back with Petrol < $100 a Month sweat.gif

Thx bro for confirming. On another note, any UOB Vox Card user here? Buy 1-free-1 at GSC from today till 13 June 2014. Anyone received sms?

let's say if you have an outstanding balance of rm600 in other cc, so uob will pay on behalf to clear that outstanding for you. so for the next 6 months (0%), you just need to pay rm100 per month to uob.

Guys, is it a must to fill up an application form and fax it to UOB Malaysia in order to get the ATM pin ?
For my case, I just call them up and they straight away send it to my office. But it's not the case for my girlfriend.
*
No need fax. Just call up will do. I called them up using the phone at their branch. I asked if I need to fill in any form since the cs never mentioned. She said no need. Only need to verify a few details.

But my gf tried to request for it, they said have to fill up form and send it to their office via postage.

Nvm bro, thanks for sharing your info. Will try and call again in this coming weekend. biggrin.gif

I made a RM 70 transaction on petrol on 14th March and I got RM 0.50 cash rebate only. Assuming that yours was the last transaction for the remaining cash rebate, I should get a full 5% rebate for my transaction.  sad.gif

Then this is so freaking lame. You sure you get something right? Must complain

My total petrol spend was RM 300 and I should get RM 15 cash rebate. However, I got only RM 12. In my latest statement, my latest spend in Feb for petrol was on 13th, in March, it was on 14th, and yet it was short of RM 3 cash rebate.  sad.gif
*
If you pumped on 13th through swiping at pump terminal it shouldn't show the 13th transaction since it takes a few days for the petrol station to clear the transaction with UOB UNLESS you swiped your card at the UOB swipe terminal at the counter.

If you want full rebate on petrol every month, go for Citibank CashBack Platinum card. It gives you cashback of 5% whole month, without the nationwide cap. Only individual cap at total petrol spent of RM600, or full RM30 petrol cashback.

Citibank cashback platinum card is almost similar to the UOB one card. The only significant difference on petrol cashback between them both is that UOB One gives additional Smartcash 2% rebate (after 30 Apr Apr 2014, now at 5%). Meaning as for now, UOB One gives 5% cashback + 5% Smart$ (limited to 900k for cashback and 30Apr for Smart$). Citibank is all month round, RM30 max.

To new applicants, I would advice Citibank Cashbash Platinum so that there's not surprise on your petrol cashbacks.

thanks for the suggestion! i was looking at the Citibank Cashback Platinum too. but the annual fee which is not certain whether it's waivable sets me off  blink.gif

what do you think about the Maybank 2 Cards? it's 5% cashback for weekends. So i can just fill up my petrol on every weekends, there's a lot of petrol stations around my place  biggrin.gif
*
Citibank Cashback Platinum, my bro is using. The annual fee and GST can be waived by the bank. My bro confirmed it with me last time before I subscribe UOB One (salary range still too low for a fresh-grad).

MBB 2 cards will ONLY waive ONE card for GST out of 2 cards. Meaning you still must pay RM50. My aunt confirmed this. For weekend petrol, if you can wait till weekends then ok. If not, go for Citibank cashback.

Actually it doesnt make sense coz I apply 2 UOB cards and the CS says they will waive my both GST and annual fee. I even got the email from them as proof. I wonder why Maybank cannot.

maybank only charge 1 gst for 2 cards, so when they offer 1 gst waiver means you don't have to pay anything.
*
Nono. Both cards are charged GST. Confirmed by my aunt. She called up the cs and they say they waive on one card. The Amex card is charged GST. The statement shows RM50. Meaning 2 cards, 2 GST, however only one is waive. Another card is charged.

Technically you are right, GST is charged for each card. However, GST for one card is waived not because she called; it is waived for everyone.
*
Yaya actually she did say that for the 2 Cards, one will deifnitely be waived. However she still call every year just in case they change their T&C. No one knows, better to call. But then, they will never waive the other card's GST. Meaning force you to take both cards, and charge GST for one of them. I understand the GST is remitted to the government, but why can't they absorb it. She spend quite alot every year.

Anyhow, out of the 3 cashback cards,

i) I'd go for UOB One card now coz my salary level is too low for Citibank Cashback and Maybank 2 Cards.

ii) Maybank 2 Cards great only for weekend spendings. Go out eat also 5%. Best part still can collect points and many Maybank partner merchants around. But if weekdays, this card is kinda lousy. For those salary above RM30,000, should give this card a try since it's good for the weekends. I heard the treatpoints has no expiry date. Anyone can confirm?

iii) Citibank Cashback card good for those salary level above annual RM40,000. Also good for weekday spendings. Sometimes, we cannot avoid weekday spendings. But then, it is exactly like UOB One card except for the petrol and certain add-ons.
