To all, be wary. A fellow direct sales agent from UOB themselves (meaning not outsource), called me yday because I tried to apply online for their UOB One Classic credit card. He said that the RM50 GST cannot be waived. Only the annual fee can be waived after 60 swipes (ridiculous although I can swipe 60 times by buying 60 mentos in tesco).

And to all regarding the online application which entitles you to a rebate cash of RM50, this will only come after the 3rd of 4th credit card statement.

UOB sent a card to me without my consent (asking me to upgrade i guess). Never activated it and ignore it. Then my current cc statement came and the GST is charged for the new card without me activating it.. So now i called up card centre to cancel but they said i need to swap 6 times in 2 months time if im not mistaken to get back my rm50 GST.

i never activated it pun kena.. zz

Surprisingly, got my RM50 cashback (for applying through online) without needing to remind them about it.

On the other hand, I'm kinda upset with the new T&C for maximum monthly cash rebate for petrol transactions.
Agree...

The RM50 is actually applicable even through applying from sales agent of UOB. Even through applying by agent, all you need to do is swipe 3 times to waive the RM50 so it's the same. Applying through agent is convenient at times since you get his hp number.

if you don't mind to be looked at one kind by the cashier, you may do so by buying candies for 6 times at giant/tesco/aeonbig/etc. as per advised.
another way is to go to a petrol station (with automated fuel dispenser), then pump rm1 for six times to your car or motorbike. or if you want to pump rm0.10 for six times is alright too. so that 6 times only cost you rm0.60. and furthermore, you are dealing with an automated machine, so nobody will look at you at one kind. but of course, you must choose the correct petrol station (with less/no attendants) and perform it at the right time (with no vehicles waiting behind you).  icon_rolleyes.gif

Haha not an issue. Me very thick face. LOL pump petrol 6 times, i nvr thought of that. Will do it.

but most cc only allows 3 times per day for petrol pumping. so you have to spread it to maybe 2 days (3 times each) or 3 days (2 times each).  brows.gif

Ya i know this. Maybank AMEX allows only once per petrol station in 1 hour. Meaning after you pump once, you cannot pump at the same petrol station within the same hour. Tried this before during the petrol rush a few months back. LOL

is it happened because you have maximised almost all your credit limit at that time?
for example, you used rm9.7k of your rm10k limit.
so when you use the first time, it will block rm200 from your cc, which means you have used rm9.9k of your rm10k.
so when you try to use again, you can't because they can't block another rm200 (only rm100 available).
until they release back the balance of the previously blocked amount maybe after 1 hour, then you can swipe again.
is that the case?  hmm.gif
*
Nope. Maybank AMEX credit card got no limits. It's my mom's card actually. She always pay on time so Maybank gave her a 100k limit per month. LOL we called Maybank to confirm and they said AMEX is like that. Within same station, a space of 1 hour between each pump transaction.

just called UOB CC center

Now im confused regarding VOX card on the annual/monthly fees

this is what i've been told

Agent : NO Annual Fees. Just RM6 monthly fees which will be automatically waived if i use it at least once per month

UOB Branch : There is annual fees on top of the RM6 monthly fees

CC Center : There's no annual fees

rclxub.gif same bank, different department, different answer?? which is the truth?
*
You never read T&C? T&C is the strongest answer. Once a month swipe, waive RM6. However, as per latest, confirmed by UOB Headquarters marking department and customer service (called them to triple confirm), there is no annual fee for 2nd year onwards. Just need to call ask them waive it. For first year, ya you need to call as well. But i'll adhere to the dumb T&C rule since T&C overrides everything else and it's a solid written proof.

If everything goes bad, people will say something else. So i'd rather go with the T&C

eh tesco can swap card with such little amount? all this while i thought they got certain amount?
good idea... isit applicable to all UOB cards that they waived GST for u every year if u swipe 3 times?
from Preferred plat to VI.
*
Tesco got no minimum but got maximum.

I think you got the wrong idea. 3 swipes is for the RM50 rebate. You can treat it as GST waiver. But GST pay in 1st statement, rebate RM50 pay u back at 4th statement. Basically, it isn't the same. As for 3 times a year, no idea for subsequent years. They keep saying none. Some ppl say u threaten close, they waive all. No idea.

Today I called in and they told me the card is cancelled.
I have to wait for call back from Retention Dept to get the RM50 GST waived
*
You paid the RM50 GST? Lol. Actually you don't need pay. If they insist you pay even when you never requested it, go to consumer association to complain. Don't need to afraid of them. If matters go big, go to Bank Negara complain. Cases like this, you will usually win.

Only the 3 major telco will enjoy the 2% rebate on the telco bills.

Other service providers are not eligible for it such as Umobile, TM, P1, GP and etc.

Others have. 0.3%, falling in the list of "others"

I waited for 2+ weeks only their bank rang me up. I only got the card after 3 weeks + .
*
I'm a new applicant so the bank rang my boss up about my details, meaning it was approved on the day they called my boss.

How I know? I called up yday to confirm approval of the card and they said it has been sent out on normal post. Normal post actually not very slow. I used to received my documents within 4 days of sending out. If you waited 3 weeks ++, it means ur card has been sleeping for 2 weeks plus.

Yes you can. You need to have access to the online system first. From there on, you can view/download your e-statement.
*
How?? The guide book that comes with the card did not teach me. Can you, as a great sifu, teach me how to access. The links and so on. Never seem to be able to find it.

Card approved two days ago. Need to wait for normal post. Kinda frustrating waiting for 3 weeks to get a yes or no answer from the bank!
*
3 weeks for yes or no?? Mine took 3 days from application date to approve, 7 subsequent days to reach my home. Total 10 days from date of application.

And to all who applied online, the RM50 cash back is applicable even when we apply through sales agent. I just called the customer service twice to confirm (my colleague say me crazy).

So what is extra applying online where sales agent cannot provide?
a) After sales-service. Meaning we can have direct contact of the credit card agent straight from the HQ. I tried applying online and the Senior Marketing Executive from UOB HQ in KL contacted me, giving me his personal contact number. However, I decided to apply through agent to get freebies (typical Malaysian)

b) The so-called RM50 cashback.

So what is extra applying through sales agent where online cannot provide?
a) Freebies!!! Hoho

b) The so-called RM50 cashback is ALSO applicable through sales agent too. Swipe 3 times only. As for annual fee, the Senior Marketing Executive confirmed for me that we don't need to have minimum swipes for waiver. Just call up for waiver.

Guys,

so how? The RM900,000 cap rebate? hmm.gif

a lil confuse with the above.
*
What are you confused with? The 5% BHP is smart cash (valid till end of April 14). I confirmed with the cs, no limit. The 900,000 cap is for the 5% cash rebate. As such, whether smart cash is 2% or 5%, ntg to do with 900,000.
