Maybank Treat points now having 3 years lifetime. The Maybank 2 Amex is the only card that I don't sulk when paying (points redemption) as the points get accumulate fast  smile.gif

UOB One card is a suitable card to start with but do check with your spending level / pattern.
*
Ya i check my spending pattern all the time. Keep track with my expenses. Personally, Maybank 2 Cards is better for me. Sadly need wait till my salary reaches that level. I usually only spend during weekends. 5% + 5x points during weekends definitely good for me.

The 5% rebate you meant is for the smartcash or for the petrol rebate?

Someone mention here that he unable to get cash rebate for his petrol transaction on the 16th Mar I think.

May I know how much each of the transaction amount you did?
*
My transaction on 15th only partial receive. My total pump RM99.74 while rebate is RM4.19. Not even 5%. Only 4.2%.

for petrol rebate.

yes, i know someone said 16/3 and onward no more receive the 5% cash rebate. but i pumped rm94.50 at shell on 26/3 still received the 5%. maybe uob allocate the 5% based on monthly quota per user? or uob let pumping at non-bhp still can receive?  hmm.gif
*
They had quota of RM300 for UOB One Classic. Mine on classic and I did not reach that quota of RM300. Only pump around Rm100. I must call CS i think. Unfair since you pumped RM94.50 and still get full rebate.

i mean the quota per user like every user can only allowed to get 33% of their monthly quota? something like that.

for example, for me, my max is rm500 but i only use rm60 on 5/3 and rm94.50 on 26/3. means i only use rm154.50 out of my rm500 max (which was less than 33% of my max). and your case was rm100 out of rm300 (which is also around 33% only).
*
LOL 33% of monthly quota?? Then what for put quota limit of RM300? Quota of RM300 means the limit ma. So which means we should can reach Rm300 or RM15 cashback.

i just think so, not confirm. because maybe uob wants to be fair to all users to have chance to get the 5%. LOL! just thinking only. actually i'm very dissatisfied with this contest/lucky draw type of 5% rebate. going to cut the card anytime soon.  vmad.gif  mad.gif
*
I still need to wait till my salary level reaches 2.5k. Will cancel the card replace with Maybank 2 Gold Cards. 5% fixed on weekends definitely better for me since I spent most on weekends. I'll still keep the UOB vox card due to the online 5% cashback. Useful if i buy things online from groupon.

Annual Fee not waived automatically when fulfil min usage and number of swipe?  hmm.gif

Hmm last time I asked the CS before subscribing, they say no minimum usage or number of swipes for annual fee. All I have to do is call the CS, and they will immediately waive it.

Why dont use smart cash to offset the GST charge??

Between, since bank has been updated TnC about petrol cash back limit, now seldom use for this card for petrol, always plan to pump the petrol on weekends.

I Was thinking whether Citi Platinum cash back is good enough to be replace for petrol on weekdays.  hmm.gif
*
If I were you, I would get Citibank Cash Back Platinum. It's a good card and give you total RM50 cashback for petrol. No limit internationally, just limit for individual users. DEFINITELY a better card. Moreover, it's cash back items are more than UOB card. It's definitely a better card in my opinion.

If you only pump petrols on weekends and not weekdays, and more of your expenses are weekend-based, i would recommend Maybank 2 Cards Gold. It gives you 5% cashback on all retail (including petrol) transactions on every weekends plus 5x Treatpoints. A very good card if you're a weekend spender.

Want to ask if anyone know what is the minimum amount of smartcash I can claim if I want to use it fully for petrol at BHP?

currently I only have around RM15 smartcash, can I just claim all and don't swipe any amount for petrol?
*
Yes you may claim Rm15 and don't spend any single cent else. meaning since you have RM15, just pump Rm15 worth.

My advice, DON'T CLAIM it now yet. Why? Because BHP still giving 5% Smartcash. If you use the RM15, you won't get any smart cash for your RM15 pump. No cashback also. ONLY CLAIM smartcash at places where you don't get cashback and low smartcash only.

Petrol pumping gives you 5% cashback and 5% smart$cash (after 30Apr is 2%). If you use your smartcash, you won't get any cashback and smartcash. As such, it is recommended to use smartcash at smart$merchants where they give you 1% or 2% smart$cash only and no cashback.

*
Suggestion?? Call CS lo. Now that they ALREADY CHARGED, they may not let u waive it. Try calling ba. If they say cannot, then tell them to cancel the card. Cancelling, u still must pay the RM50. But some forumers said the bank will usually call back if you're a big spender to let you know your GST and fee has been waived. Try ba.

To all, there's a new regarding the Cash Back. The customer service has errored in a few things. System error.

1) Remember I said my 15th March transaction only partial cash back? Well my 23rd March gotten full cash back and 30th March no cash back. The customer service stupidly said the cashback is based on statement basis rather than monthly basis. Then I asked him if it's statement basis, my 30th should get cashback since it's early of the statement (my statement dated 16th April). Then he said it's calendar month, which doesn't make sense again since 15th March is early of the month too. So it goes like 15th partial, 23rd full but 30th none. Weird.

Next up, my Vox card spent Rm50 per transaction also no cash back. As such, to those not getting any cashback before 23rd march, PLEASE GO COMPLAIN. It seems their system got a glitch, that's why some transaction failed. Please go complain if anyone never get cashback. And it seems the cs made a confuse as well. He said the cashback limit now is full 900k, not 5% of 900k (meaning 45k). He said in conjunction with BHP, they make it 900k instead. Big confusion big time.

juz applied this card in tropicana city mall juz now ... the uob platinum ..

then salesman keras keras push me the uob PREFERRED platinum ... macam no benefit except the unlimited airport lounge access ...

he say both cards will have gst and annual fees waived for the 1st year ... did i kena con ?
*
First year, annual fees sure waived. GST will charge in ur 1st statement, then once swiped 3 times, will credit back to u in your 3rd or 4th statement. One thing, i don't like cards with those lounge access. No purpose unless you fly alot. If not, such cards are useless.

Wow... 10 times RM50 a month is a deal breaker...

If only UOB One Card going to continue its current 5% smart Rebate on BHP petrol station... I may consider to continue using it  sad.gif
*
If you find that card bad, try these 2 banks.

Citibank CashBack Card (RM40,000 salary) - Exactly same like UOB One Card except a few differences. Clear Card has no national-level caps, only individual monthly caps. Unlike UOB one at 900k national-level caps per month and individual 300 a month, Clear Card individual caps at RM500 if i'm not mistaken. Then, citibank has larger merchant partner base than UOB.

Maybank Gold 2 Cards (RM30,000 salary) - 5% cash back on all weekends expenses and 5x treat points if i'm not mistaken. A lot of points and gifts to be collected. 5% cash back includes petrol pump on all petrol stations. Normal day 2x treat points if i'm not mistaken.

to correct you..amex all the time is 5x TP except to govt bodies and insurance..
5% cash back is only during weekends regardless when & where (but the transaction date must be on WEEKEND), but have a cap of rm50 per month..so ngam2 spend 1k monthly for u to utilise the CB..but the TP will still go on even u've reach the limit of CB
*
Wow that's cool. But I don't quite understand the 2 cards mechanisms. For example, if I use the gold visa rather than amex, can I get 5x points? How about the cb? Can get? Please advice.

Go for CItibank CashBack Platinum card. Same features like UOB One, but with more merchant partners, you can earn more.

Yup. since we are not sure of the 5% allocation.. why still stick to UOB? wouldnt it be better to stick to Wise and choose category for petrol and groceries.
*
LOL using UOB, there are high chance you will get a rebate even if you're unsure. Using wise, unless you spend RM50 per transaction SHARP SHARP 10 times a month, you won't get any rebate for the month. As such, I dont see why Wise is better than UOB. Unless you sibeh rich person can spend RM50 per transaction, 10 times a month, no rebate. I'd rather stay with UOB if I had to choose between One card and Wise card.
