Damn. I can actually make a research paper on WIFI cards now.

Long story short: I'm back on the Intel Advanced-N 6235. Supposedly it's the card with the WORST driver issues but right now, it's the only one pushing 1.2MBps through my home WIFI - without ANY problems (on STOCK Win 8 drivers of course).

Stock Realtek/Azurewave - Disconnection issues. Single Band.
Killer 1202 - Connection instability. Disconnection issues. Dropouts. Timeouts. Bluetooth mouse problems. Just thankful I didn't buy this crap for full price.
Broadcom Dual-Band N + 4.0 BT - Damn thing didn't even start.

Granted, all WIFI problems come in 2 parts: a) Adapter Issues and b) Router Issues, and my router (TP-Link Gigabit Single Band Advanced N) isn't quite the best out there, but right now, the 6235 is surprisingly giving me the least grief.

Maybe later when I've upgraded my home router I'll give the Killer another chance. But right now, I'm simply surprised that it's "GAMING GRADE" when it can't even download anything for more than 3 minutes without disconnecting.
*
so story is you hoping killer 1202 improve you connection, but it's do the opposite. maybe there issues with killer 1202 hardware... try to exchange it.. ?

Nah, second hand from someone, it's cheap so WTH. From the looks of it, no real issue with the hardware though, it connects fine when it WANTS to. It's simply not compatible with my home router at the moment - it doesn't really like the Macs and the iPhones in the house either.

So keeping it for testing later when I get around to replacing the router.
*
haha it connect fine when it want to... ? sound like 1202 got unresolved issues ..

Yeah, feels like the laptop is gaining 30 minutes more battery life right? LOL!

Regarding your Killer 1202, mine disconnects once in awhile too but never during gaming or surfing. Only when its idle. LOL! For an Atheros product (now part of Qualcomm), never expected it to be that bad. Granted there is no 'Killer' hardware inside there except IP stack, QoS and proprietary optimization. I think the issue is in the driver side of things.
*
REALLY BATTERY IS GAINING 30MINUTE ...? I NEVER TEST THAT... HMM (TEST THIS TONITE GONNA BE ME AND GT70 ON MY KING BED) LOL

x
alot expert on killer 2200 on here... i have no clue... or what so ever i know i can connect no problem...lol biggrin.gif

Feels like only LOL! Have to say like this otherwise Intel/MSI how to justify Haswell? :-p
By the way you have 32GB in 4x 8GB modules configuration right? I read every module you add into the system, you're adding 3-4W of consumption. Effectively cancelling out the advantage. HAHAHAHA!

Its definitely the driver or some service issues. I remember stock MSI drivers has the ability to turn off monitoring. With the latest driver, there is no option except disabling the services itself. But still disconnect once in awhile.

Anyway I just want to have the 5GHz feature because believe it or not, there's more than 30 Wi-Fi access point around my apartment. LOL! Its crazy! No use playing with Wi-Fi channels, they are all congested in 2.4GHz band.
*
ah well i got 32GB Low volt RAM i am happy... my notebook are allow to sux as many electric it want... lolz still key words here "low volt" so is best 32GB config i can think of ... if i don't max out my ram i having nightmare...

x
think driver... cause before i hav kinda weird issues with connection but not that intelligent to identified it i just uninstall stock driver and install latest one... problem gone.. then weird random BSOD just update SSD firmware boom problem gone... no bsod bother my porn session... (on 3 screen, i luv this MSI!!)

x
u staying high rise building internet must be already FasT!

Edit: regarding Haswell... i7-4800MQ best option wonder why msi option that into their system.. wait i know what Mr Eiraku say"i7 4700mq=Cost msi"

A quick one, when playing any games I have to turn on the cooler boost?

It parodies 80s action flicks. Think about all the cheesy Arnie and Stallone flicks like Commando and Cobra, with all the one-liners and over-the-top gore and card-carrying evil minions and one random sex scene between the heroine and hero before the big finale.

And then multiply that by a factor of 100.

That's Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

So it is safe to say that, it is not necessary to turn on cooler boost when playing any heavy games. But once the cpu temps really gets hot, only turn it on?  hmm.gif
*
just turn the D A M N thing on! unless you want to see/smell smoking chip-sets lolz

well best way to know if Fan boost should be switch on or off during gaming is by running Hwinfo64 at background while gaming... (2 hour) then see what max CPU/Gpu temp.. if cpu below 80C, gpu below 75C i switch on during gaming and buy myself notebook cooler..smile.gif

Dear MSI FanBOI,

What you think of SteelSeries Product...? are they really good? or just brands... product like other generic product...? to be honest... i like the name sound catchy Steelseries... but mouse pad i have from s.s is not feeling the quality... like color look faded, wear off and component feel OKAY quality(way it claim to be) and this mouse pad cost me RM35 bought it 4 month ago(still new right?)... And steelseries Headphone price is RM350-450... a bit pricey ?? no?

Edit: on my GT70 Keyboards Steelseries Area of WASD" when i push hold it with minor force feel half of the keyboards shake.. feel like goin to break...i don't feel it Solid... or maybe my finger push to hard then normal ppl??(with a bit more pressure"feel la") i never exp this with my Asus G75VX or Alienware M14xR2 ...

The only thing I have from SS is the Siberia V2, and honestly it's not half bad, sound wise. BUT, at 300 for a basic set (don't get me started on the marked up "special editions"), the built is slightly lacking. Not the built "quality" mind you (it's screwed together quite well), it's just SOOO plasticky and doesn't really feel like a RM300 product.

They really should have at least used better, maybe even textured plastic. The glossy stuff they're using right now makes it feel cheap to the point that my Logitech G230 feels more like a RM300 headphone compared to the SV2.

The G230 doesn't sound even half as good as the SV2 though, and the retractable mic on the SV2 is sheer genius. And while it feels flimsy, the SV2 is undoubtedly more comfortable (except for the hot, sweaty pleather pads).

For other stuff, I dunno. For mouse I'm more a Razer guy, simply because nobody else makes a mouse like the Orochi. For mousepad I don't really buy into the whole "GAMING" hype and I just use a cheapo Followes pad.

A for the keyboard, that's just MSI NOT reinforcing the area beneath the keyboard enough. After all, Steel Series didn't build the keyboard, they just helped with design and stuff.
*
THX out put smile.gif hmm yes i hear SS make good Headphone price rm350 i think, and Razer Mouse... at moment MSI gaming mouse seem to be OKAY ...smile.gif maybe future i think try Razer... see what other gamer talking about...

x
really ss just help design? not made/manufacture by ss? it say on my GT70 "Keyboards by Steelseries" but regarding NOT reinforcing... strangely feel flimsy under WASD" "S" feel worst... like i can literally puncher hole true my keyboards... other alphabetic seem Steady/solid... gosh did i receive defect keyboards? lolZ hmm.gif

again thX reply mr, Eiraku!

My GT70 seems ok. Rock solid. Doesn't feel like it would sink when pressed hard. Maybe I'm more gentle tongue.gif

This is the first time I'm using a 'Steelseries' branded keyboard. Never really bought into those gaming endorsed accessories. But I must say typing on the GT70 is really enjoyable. No 'shaky' keys and quiet. The last time I enjoyed such a keyboard was one from Siemens-Nixdorf. Man... thats a long long time ago.
*
hmm THX reply... smile.gif

gosh i am starting to think i got defect KEyboards, other key alphabet seem solid/steady just WASD key...? try on your key is it like push the hold key feel shaky when push WASD...? hmm maybe my fat hand just to heavY! aRGH

Now I'm starting to think that the "bottleneck" issue is probably minor to SOME people. The GX did not get its fair share of praise. FC3 seems playable at ultra, and for the price, i'd say it's a win.

*
i try to TELL/recommend everyone GX60/70 is a GOOD BUY, if your on Budget... if not GO for GT60/70 blush.gif (if you game on HIGH/Ultra RES1920x1080)

edit: you can further increase overall performance by upgrade 8Gbx2 1866Mhz Performance RAM... 15-25% (on GX 60/70)
