But the only difference between the old GT and new GT being thermal bridge right?

Anyway the NOS is a MSI thing. Nvidia 700-series all support turbo boosting ala Intel style. This allows manufacturers to differentiate amongst themselves because how high the turbo can hit depends on thermal capacity. If the cooling design is efficient, there'll be more room for performance boosting.

yes the extra copper extended from CPU/GPU...

Sorry to bother but I have a few questions to ask
1) The MSI service center is located approximately where in Low Yat?
2) My GE60 20E's back does not have any stickers asides from the warranty void if tampered with sticker, any advice on this?
3) Approximately how long would it take for them to diagnose and fix up my laptop?
*
biggrin.gif luv to advise/help Welcome
1) 3rd floor store locate back shop of that floor( do not be shock when you see it..)
Note : ask seller on that floor. Tips pretend you goin to purchase MSI NB then ask them where/show MSI service center.. low yat
2)advice on what? there no sticker bottom notebook... (have you upgrade RAM/HDD/SSD?)

3) depend on what is the problem Hardware will take 2-6 weeks(order hardware replacement) if software/OS 3+ working days... call msi care line to confirm 1 300 88 2273 / Jacky Seller on that floor 0165636075 he show you where low yat msi service center is... biggrin.gif

Edit: optional ... if software or BSOD please try to F3 recovery smile.gif

Thanks for the fast reply, as for whats wrong with my laptop. It just randomly lags during usage, such as when watching stream or listening to music on spotify. I assume its a multitasking problem?
You can move the cursor but any input from the point of lag, will only apply after the lag. I usually just afk until the lag is over ( force power off not good for laptop right)
P.S: How they know if its under warranty then?
*
when you say LAG in like LAG when on Internet usage only? so is your Broadband / wifi internet nothing to do with GE60

haha: Eiraku help guy lols i should let pro help biggrin.gif

I'm not too sure, but most of the lag incidences does have flash running one way or another if I recall correctly.

I have never upgraded anything in it. Its the one with the GTX 765. It just started happening a day or two after purchase ( I don't think installing Skype, flying spaghetti monster etc has an effect?)

Definitely not the internet speed problem as well. Runs fine on my old Sony Vaio. As for browsers, this problem can occur on both chrome and firefox so I guess its not really them being a problem
*
how IE is it same? have you install any new plug-in flash plugin so on for browser ?(some JAVA software/ program cause unstability into IE/firefox so on)

try make sure you have latest /SAFE update Browser and if this not fix uninstall and reinstall to the latest one.. smile.gif if still lag please do Refresh win8 smile.gif

Just a reminder, if you DO decide to try a Win8 refresh, save up your savegames and stuff somewhere safe. EVERYTHING outside the "User" folders will be nuked clean, including stuff inside both "Program Files" folders.

I found that out the HARD way lol.
*
yes lolx hmm i expected MR.Eiraku would read before push the RED button(refresh win 8)

Well, I did save all my stuff JUST IN CASE. Though I had little idea that I would be as destructive as that. Was expecting a more subtle "restore Windows directory only" deal like Windows Repair last time.
*
hmm best cure sometimes is whole OS to start fresh!New! flex.gif

[quote=Eiraku,Sep 18 2013, 10:08 PM]What's funny is the fact that I had NO WAY to normally copy and save my files to my external disk at that time (I couldn't boot into Windows AT ALL), I had to do it ALL from the F3 command prompt - that was some heavy typing right there.

wow what happen? too much porn... and some backdoor trojan delete soms .DLL system file and win8 won't load right hmm gosh that happen to me too... damm feel your pain... hmm.gif

Lol, no p0rn involved. Just me modding my Windows DLLs to allow for visual style themes. Turns out Windows Updates make manual uxtheme DLL modding a very, very bad idea in Win8.

Now using UXStyle and I have no more such issues.

@Unseen: Optimus isn't perfect though, especially for older games.
*

So MSI gaming laptop is also highly customizable just like Sager laptop?

One more thing, how does the overclocking performance compare with other highend laptop, I'm talking about both CPU and GPU.
*
yes and no... lol they don't recommend newbie/noob to install hardware

x
hmm to be honest with you MSI is abit more prone to throttle of CPU/GPU then the rest of the Gaming NB... why? because thermal/Single Fan design ( oh sorry MSI FanBOI this is my humble opinion la... ) i DO NOT REccomend to OC on MSI or in any NOTEBOOK please if you want to OC keep it on Desktop PC. biggrin.gif

This sucks, guess I've to look for other laptop then.

I think I'll hold my purchase coz next gen GPU is around the corner, no point to pay high price and will be "obsoleted" soon.
*
really? GTX780m just come out July 2013... where you hear new gen GTX?? care to share? if not mistaken Nvidia out new GEN gpu every 9 month so kinda new GTX 700 series

Maxwell in the 1st quater 2014, rumor ofc, but pretty sure AMD will have their new GPU to replace 7970m around that time. Even maxwell doesn't make it at that time, it'll force Nvidia to lower price on 780m, and I've the option to choice between 2.
*
yeah AMD ATI did replace their 7970M with 8970M...

/edit: msi selling GX60/70 with 8970M for 3 month already biggrin.gif
