yup, pretty much the easiest to find is macbarren vanilla (loose cut)- 7E. jusco sells some middleton's, which are pretty good. me i like blend eleven(good for pipes and rollies), but damn hard to find.
pertama. there's a shop that sells unbranded briar wood pipes there for under 100. pretty good quality too. gf floor. don't remember the shop name at the moment.

advice? never buy plastic pipes or the ones with clay-walled(dr. plumb's lower end series).

went there moments ago. cheapest is rm 69... but those looks like urgh.

honestly, I think pipes is expensive in mly... T_T

well, you're out of luck i guess. i bought a pretty cool looking one last year for 70. smoked really nice and fits nicely as well. pipes are subjective anyway. one man's pipe may not accommodate another. sweat.gif

price wise, pipes are like wines. making it is an art. so obviously even the cheap ones are not that cheap. "cheap" here means at least with acceptable workmanship. not those lousy cheap plastic ones. happy hunting. icon_rolleyes.gif

No definite answer to this, but if you understand several things, and apply some common sense it's easy to decide what you need to do:

- pipe tobacco generally should be a bit wet and not too dry to give a nice cool smoke that's the opposite of dry scorching hot smoke
- freezer will make any tobacco very dry depending on the duration you put them in there, but then there are some tobacco that are very wet, making it hard to char and get going
- some people just leave it out for half hour before smoking the tobacco (eg for flake cut) but not everyone wants to do this every time
- same goes with aroma, generally speaking which one would keep more aroma - bone dry vs moist? That's why almost all tobacco are sold in sealed packs, that is to prevent them from getting too dry

I'd say experiment with a small amount instead of putting in the whole tin/pack in the fridge and soon you'll find out your own preference. Again remember, different type of tobacco will obviously give you different results.

I personally would not put my tobacco in the fridge though.

Finally got a corn cob pipe, not the highest grade from MM but the taste its great plus no breaking in needed too... it only cost me around RM55-RM68 each for this 2nd grade pipes of different sizes (got it directly from the States (NOT CHINA), any1who is looking for corn cob pipe can PM me, still have like 6 new pipes...LOL) thumbup.gif

[its ranked 2nd grade due to the surface defect like a small scratch or chip or one tiny hole on the corn cob surface (something like that)... but it does not affect the taste & the air ventilation from the cob does help the cooling & drying of the pipe...need not say anymore as to me its great to be holding & smoking some finally!!!]

So far, had one pipe just dedicated for Peterson blue sapphire; also dedicated another for MacBaren's Vanilla & its range.
Im still all excited with my corn cobs & will try with MacBaren Cube later today after work... rclxm9.gif

ALso, read from the above that someone RYO with pipe tobacco...i do RYO ciggs using pipe tobacco most of the time as i can't really smoke my pipe in doors & it does goes off like its happens with pipe (occasionally) if you leave it non-smoke for sometime... "just my 2cents"

p/s: im not doing any pipe selling business but since i have some extra & if there are any1 who are interested, why not as its difficult to get genuine corn cobs pipes (not those from China) around in M'sia...LOL

Thanks for the lead, Zero. Is the shop in Pertama just selling tobacco and smoking accessories like Cig.lounge or something else that happen to sell pipes too?
Thx again.
