No definite answer to this, but if you understand several things, and apply some common sense it's easy to decide what you need to do:

- pipe tobacco generally should be a bit wet and not too dry to give a nice cool smoke that's the opposite of dry scorching hot smoke
- freezer will make any tobacco very dry depending on the duration you put them in there, but then there are some tobacco that are very wet, making it hard to char and get going
- some people just leave it out for half hour before smoking the tobacco (eg for flake cut) but not everyone wants to do this every time
- same goes with aroma, generally speaking which one would keep more aroma - bone dry vs moist? That's why almost all tobacco are sold in sealed packs, that is to prevent them from getting too dry

I'd say experiment with a small amount instead of putting in the whole tin/pack in the fridge and soon you'll find out your own preference. Again remember, different type of tobacco will obviously give you different results.

I personally would not put my tobacco in the fridge though.
