Hi Vinveyang,

When you displayed those colour charts on your screen, how do you calibrate your screen?
Do you need special tools to do the calibration?

The timing of the subtitle not match. And sometimes, it skip some sentences. I compared when watching using PC, the subtitle load correctly.

Ohh, never encounter this type of problem on my plasma.
Are all the movies having this problem?
Your movies are stored in 2.5" hard disk or 3.5" hard disk?

60"ST60 user reporting in.

Do I need to break in my TV? Any recommendation how I can do it? Can I watch wide screen movie (2 black bar) if not break in my set?
*
Congrats on your new tv.
Yes, it is better to break in your plasma.
You can watch normal tv and movies but try not to set the Brightness and Contrast too high.
Suffer for the first 200 hours and then set the Brightness and Contrast to your preference.
If you have the $$$, get someone to calibrate it.

i put the movie in my 32gb pendrive. my tv cannot detect external hdd.
*
Wow, that is bad.
Have you try a smaller pendrive, like 8GB size?
What file format you are playing? MKV or AVI or MP4?
Is the problem affecting all the above format?
The subtitle is embedded or on external file, .sub or .srt?

Currently my setting all I left to default. Mode is Cinema, Warm. All other setting left as default (Brightness:50, Contrast:50, Sharpness:50 and etc). For brightness and contrast how high is too high? Coz currently I watch with default, its already very bright in total dark home theater room.
*
The default setting is ok. Some people tune the Contrast to 80 or 90 on a new plasma.
Sharpness can lower it to 0.

MKV file. The subtitle is external .srt. I havent tried with smaller pendrive or other file format  hmm.gif

I quite frustrated after few tries, then i connect the tv with my pc. play all the movie thru pc using the tv as display. huhu
*
MKV with .srt shouldn't be a problem on a new tv.
How big are your movie files?
What about using ext 3.5" hard disk?

All right. Any recommendation on how do I do the break in? How many hours break in needed (100 hours)? Thanks.
*
Some people play colour screens. Some just watch normal tv and movies.
Some recommend 200 hours for the break in.
If you are in no hurry, just use the tv in your normal viewing pace. After 2 months then do the calibration.
If you can't wait to complete the break in, watch tv/movies during the day and play colour screens when you go to bed. In 9 days you can calibrate your tv.

From what I had try with my panna tv, mkv files with its corresponding srt files in the same folder, the subtitle will not play at all. In the option, when press on subtitle, it will show empty.

Currently what I did is use mkvtoonix to embed the srt file directly. Usually take about 5 minutes for a 5gb movie.
*
azilazwa's problem was "The timing of the subtitle not match. And sometimes, it skip some sentences. I compared when watching using PC, the subtitle load correctly."
Not sure it is the same problem.

I also embed all my subtitles into the movies. Not so messy in the folder.

i tried transformer 1080p size around 10gb. it couldnt play.

when i connect external hdd, it shows loading. only loading. and thats it.
*
Are you using 2.5" external hard disk?
Sometimes the usb port don't have enough juice to power up the hard disk.

Your 10GB Transformer movie can't play from where? Pendrive or hard disk?

yea, i'm using 2.5". Oo, that might be the problem, the juice is not enough.

i tried to play the transformers using 32gb pendrive. when i play it, it say unsupported.
*
Pendrive which is usually formatted under FAT16 cannot support files bigger than 4GB.
Only hard disk formatted under NTFS can support files bigger than 4GB.

about the subtitle, i'll try embedded it with the movie and test it later too. thanks for the feedback
*
I don't think Pendrive can be formatted under NTFS.
Go home and confirm.

I tried using pendrive (NTFS formatted) to play the transformer, but it could not read the file. when i browse in the folder, it shows, "no valid file to play".
*
I still suspect NTFS is not meant for Pendrive.
Can you see other files in the Pendrive?
Do you have a 4GB (or smaller) movie in that same Pendrive?
Can you play that movie?

i can play other movies with smaller size. (.mkv file with size around 1gb can be played) no problem. using same pendrive
*
This is as though the Pendrive is formatted under FAT16.
Files bigger than 4GB cannot be read but files smaller than 4GB is OK.

Hmm, then i'll try to find movie with file size bigger than 4gb but less than 10gb to test. If it still cant play, then it is because of the FAT & NTFS format. I'll update back when i test it. TQ bro
*
Try those movies about 5GB.
I have no problem playing 12GB from my Panasonic Plasma usb port.
I use 3.5" external hard disk.

Not sure. Not a computer expert. Should ask in computer section.
Just a guess. There could be some hidden system files installed.

I noticed if you format the Pendrive under FAT, there is no hidden space used.
If you format the Pendrive under FAT32 & NTFS, there are some space used up.

Panasonic got no 55" Plasma.
For 55" you have to go with other brands.
