I believe it the same thing, just that different region/country have different model name P65ST60 where P = Plasma, 65 = 65" size and ST60 is the series name and for M'sia usually got 'K' at the end. So basically it a 65" Plasma ST60 series.

Oooooh! thanks guys! I look like an idiot walking around asking about the specific model. AND NONE OF THE ELECTRONIC WORKERS BOTHER TO ENLIGHTEN ME!
*
hehe, if you can get that model you found in the US market, you may have to look for 120V source that tv.

You should look for the tv in Panasonic Malaysia website to get the correct model number.

So the old myth about plasma heat up living area is bull
*
Not myth. The old old plasma tv has a few fans to cool down the tv. The new generation plasma is not that hot anymore. That is why you don't see any fan in the tv now.

Surprisingly... my 42s10k use 350w!!!!  shocking.gif
*
That 350w consumption is when the tv is showing a full white screen. If it is showing a night scene, then the consumption is very much lower.

well after 6-7 hours or so of running it, the image of of input label of HDMI 1 is still there although dimmed and only visible on white/light backgrounds.contrast and brightness are also set to 0 from the first few minutes the tv has been turned on.content has been played full screen and varied too.any content with black bars were made to run full screen/zoom within 10 seconds of playing the material.

All source input labels have been set to "SKIP", however there is no way to avoid the labels from appearing because when you power on the tv, the input labels will come on at least 15-30 seconds before going away. That particular spot(top left side of panel) also has many other labels for options on the remote so and it seems to me that it's not avoidable if you change options on the remote. Even the technician set the labels back on as he couldn't navigate between them with labels turned off. yes i turned them off soon after he left but need a better solution.

anyway calling panasonic a bit later to see what's next.

Your new tv cannot be having IR soo soon unless it is a display set as mentioned by anfieldude.
Check the number of hours this tv has gone through and the number of times it has been switched ON.

Not sure how many units Panasonic will test before sending them to the dealers.
I bought 1 unit in 2010 and 1 unit in 2013 and both units show 00 hours and 00 ON/OFF.
You must be one "lucky" guy that got the tested unit from Panasonic.

Even if they test the unit, do they need to ON and OFF it for 30 over times and 80 over hours?

Just my opinion, I think 100++ hours is a bit low for display set, assumming a display set is open, 8 hours daily for a month, it will have clock 240 hours, double of your clock value. Possible  that the panel maybe faulty....
*
Maybe that tv was on displayed for 1 week only and then repacked for delivery.

Hi guys, I am thinking of purchasing the ST60 from SENQ. Just wondering if you guys think its a good idea to get the extended warranty from them? I don't know much about the difference between initial warranty and extended warranty.
*
Buy the extended warranty from Panasonic website when you register your unit.
Easier to claim from Panasonic.

If you buy from the shop, they buy from insurance company (I may be wrong). When you claim later, I don't know if they call Panasonic to repair your unit or call outside repairman to repair your unit.

I also thought they were no longer available.
Until hours ago, I saw two units in box, looks new.
Rang my friends, was back there in an hour with a friend to purchase.
Opened up, panel looks totally new, untouched and clean.
Powered up, looked at service menu (took me a few mins to google the info), surprised it was brand new unused!

Booked the other unit for my other friend to purchase it tomorrow morning.

Sorry I can't reveal location until my 2nd friend buys it.
There is a third unit out of box but not powered up. Chances it might be without any hours on it.

So it was a surprise find for me!

How much did your friends for their P50ST50K?

1 noob question here, i try to plug my seagate 2.5" external harddrive to the USB as to watch the video directly from the TV via vierra tool but it seems doesn't work, the 'reading' icon stays forever and nothing can be seen or open. But with 32gb USB thumb drive, it works perfectly.

Any idea?
*
The tv usb port does not have enough juice to drive the 2.5" hard disk. There is no problem if you use a 3.5" hard disk with their power supply.
Your thumb drive has no moving parts, so the usb port can drive it.

One possible reason for this is the format of the hard drive is most likely NTFS, which might not be compatible with the TV.  The USB is most likely formatted with FAT32, which is quite universal with respect to its compatibility.  There are also some limitations to the file size depending on the format, so if you want to play high definition content, you will need to check carefully.
*
Not likely. My 3.5" hard disk formatted under NTFS can play from the usb port where the files are mostly from 4GB to 18GB.

By the time your ST60 extended warranty expires in 5 years, there will be new affordable TVs for you to choose.
As for now, enjoy the ST60.

2nd friend is on his way there now.

Is it time to reveal the price your friends paid for their P50ST50K?
