if got ZZZZ, normally it is caused by power supply grounding. try connect the keyboard to same outlet as TV, or other room to try

ah, sorry, I think you've misunderstood.. doh.gif my bad, I'm really bad at describing situations. This is not that zzz sound due to the power supply, i've experienced that before but this is not that problem..

it's like... imagine using really cheap speakers to play music at normal to high volume, something like that..

and it is not because my speakers are cheap, i've used my speakers (and still using, in fact) to put all the songs from laptop to full blast without any sound problems..

hmm, i tried putting 20% volume on my keyboard and put 40% on my speakers, still can hear the sound, no matter what volume i put on the keyboard, the speakers will still have that ZZZ sound..

if plug in headphones /internal speakers oso got ZZZ , either

1) your house power line problematic. try plug in the keyboard at a friend's house

2) defective circuitry

lower end keyboards usually comes with low quality DA converters and components.

if under warranty, and confirm still got ZZZZ , return for warranty

as for 1), I tried using the power plugs at the back of my house, same problem, can't do it at neighbour's house, they're not home..

2) OH DEAR LAWD shocking.gif I'm checking this with the shop I bought the keyboard from.. thankfully they're responding laugh.gif erm.. what are the chances that all these problems are just caused by a faulty 1/4inch to 3.5mm adapter? Since the only occurring of the problem is when I try connecting to headphones or external speakers...

taiga, i guess you mean sssssssssssss sound instead of zzzzzzzzz. they're different.

that's called hissing. completely normal. better quality circuit will give you less but all audio equipment will have this noise. usually if you buy keyboards like casio, you'll hear those sound due to cheaper and lower quality circuit.

Hi guys and girls,

So, i'm getting my first keyboard, and I'm having trouble choosing the right one. I have 3 options.

1) Yamaha PSR E323
2) Casio CTK-2100
3) Casio CTK-3000

I know PSR E323 and CTK3000 come with touch response. But does CTK-2100 actually have touch response? I have been google-ing around and I am a little confused. Some websites do not mention about touch response at all... Some websites mention "Touch response : 2 types, Off".. What does that mean???????

Would appreciate any suggestions and advices from all of you

Thanks in advance~

Guys, just started leaning piano lesson recently.

Plan to get a keyboard that could last for a while since I'm already adult.

Playing for my own-interest and have no intention of getting to high grades etc.

Any recommendation of brand & model with price?

Thanks wink.gif

hi keyboardist... i have a q's here regarding keyboard...

my friend recording from keybord into her lappy using the normal guitar cable... form keyboard into her lappy mic in i guess...
the prob is when she do that, the onboard keyboard speaker began to mute, she cant hear what she plays although the recording process is going well.... so how to solve this speaker mute so that she can listen while recording her playing? shes using casio keyboard, dont know what model though...

keyboard --> soundcard, then sound card headphone out (direct monitoring). you can do that with your lappy's headphone out, but you have to know how to do it on the software side of the setting, especially when dealing with latency if you want to monitor in realtime.

or, keyboard --> mixer, split to 2 output, 1 to your lappy, another to headphone.

is there a way to un-mute the onboard keyboard speaker?
