hi keyboardist... i have a q's here regarding keyboard...

my friend recording from keybord into her lappy using the normal guitar cable... form keyboard into her lappy mic in i guess...
the prob is when she do that, the onboard keyboard speaker began to mute, she cant hear what she plays although the recording process is going well.... so how to solve this speaker mute so that she can listen while recording her playing? shes using casio keyboard, dont know what model though...

hope someone can shed some light here

keyboard --> soundcard, then sound card headphone out (direct monitoring). you can do that with your lappy's headphone out, but you have to know how to do it on the software side of the setting, especially when dealing with latency if you want to monitor in realtime.

or, keyboard --> mixer, split to 2 output, 1 to your lappy, another to headphone.

is there a way to un-mute the onboard keyboard speaker?
