Seriously,  tongue.gif if you ride an UGO and I ride a Vector X20, I still have to wait for you and you still will arrive! If I don't wait and leave early, don't ride with me next time. Hahaha. Riding is for fun and just make sure it is FUN!  thumbup.gif

Dear all sifus, I'm planning to buy two folding bikes for my wife and myself.

My budget around RM500 per bike. We are both newbie.
Is there any recommendation? Which shop should I go to?

Thanks

I thinking of get one cateye front and a laser beam rear light. Don't whether in the market got a lot replica or not? Price different a lot on same model on BBS. Cateye brightness may not as bright as HID like those cree led light. But should be more comfortable and battery is standard type.

enuff raving about knogs, everyone has his preferences...

I got knog blinder 2 like a month ago and now they had the 3rd one.. doh.gif I m pretty satisfied with the 200lumens especially using the flash mode with riding against traffic

I didn't get the Blinder Road Rear because it was out of stock that time. I use the Daiso LED rear light instead.

Daiso LED Rear light is Rm5, run on 2 x AAA batteries. the batteries last for 15 hours (15days) as i travel to office + night ride.

The downside of it is non-waterproof. It got haywire and unable to turn off/switch mode during the raining day. LOL. i blew it with hair dryer and leave it under the fan overnight. It is quite a hassle but that is the price you paid for.

A Dream bike?
Well....  it has to have some or all of the following:

Light weight < 8 kg
< 21 inch, better if 16 inches wheels
fast and light wheelset and hubs
carbon fork, carbon bars, carbon seatpost, aluminium frame.
V-brakes (disc are a bit heavy)
folding time is fast
what bike can fulfil these specs?
*
Your dream bike sounds more expensive than mine. Haha. If you can't find one, why not manufacture one? Lol.

Can some1 roughly explain to me pros and cons for each of these? Planning to get either 1 of it... Its gonna be an 1 off purchase w/o upgrades.

1) Raleigh UGO priced around RM800

2) XDS AFB260 priced around RM900

3) Oscar Imagine Alloy priced around RM490

Raleigh Ugo doesnt has mudguard and rack to begin with. Cant compare much with XDS because 1 never see before in real life.

Perhaps you need to find out these if concern you:
1. which one fold more compact (very important to me)
2. which one is lighter

Actually I would prefer a 16 inch wheel bicycle rather than the 20 inch.  It folds more compact and will be lighter to carry.  This is especially useful when going for outstation trips in a train and then you just want to explore the new places with the bike.

Also useful if you were to use a car instead of the train.  Bicycling sure beats walking around.

go for titanium brompton
