I was looking for an upgraded bike and Tern C7 looks like a good upgrade from Raleigh Ugo. But I was told by the shop that if I were to upgrade, Tern C7 are the same. Even Tern D8 too.
Is this true? He said I wont feel any significant improvement over the bike. Hence intro me Tern P9 or Java Fit. This post has been edited by adriankhoo153: Aug 21 2013, 09:18 AM |

QUOTE(etigge @ Aug 21 2013, 09:17 AM) If you look carefully, Tern D8 has better handle post and also better locking flaps than the Link C7. D8 is also shodded with Schwalbe tires while the C7 is not. D8 has 8 speed, that off course is easy to spot. Only thing is D8 needs an adapter RD hanger if you want to use Shimano or SRAM RD. Yeah, C7 does look a little 'cheap' compare with D8 and P9. The folding mechanism is also different from D8 and P9. It takes longer and more step to fold than D8. VU selling RM2.5k for a display unit of P9. |

There is a constant thud thud thud sound each time I pedal. Not sure where it come from. If not pedaling but bike is rolling, there is no such sound. Hence it could be crankset or gear etc? Anyone can help me on this issue?

Ohh, the thud thud sound on whichever gear I was on. Perhaps I need to sent back to the bicycle shop to service. Only a month old bike.

QUOTE(etigge @ Aug 21 2013, 04:22 PM) Could be one of the few reasons. Thanks for the tips bro.. (01) The cassette is not tighten. This you need a cassette opener. Have to take it out, grease the hub a bit and then tighten. (02) The gears are not adjusted properly. (03) Since you said there's no sound when rolling, the biggest suspect is the crank arm is not tighten properly. Use an allen key (quite large) to really tighten the crank arm bolt. ![]() |

Just to share picture on light off road I done at FRIM yesterday after changing my tyre to Schwalbe Big Apple at Jonny's place. Damn, I love the Big Apple. Should have buy it earlier. Poor man suspension indeed. Really comfortable and for the good news, I thought it will be heavier than my Kenda 20x1.75 but supprisinly it's lighter.
Also got the chance to meet Foldie taikor/sifu at Jonny's place. Etigge was there too. Going thru bump and hump will never be the same again. This post has been edited by adriankhoo153: Aug 23 2013, 08:40 AM Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(gilbertlhl @ Aug 23 2013, 11:56 AM) After change tire now become superbike d.. Really poison. also wan to get it, don't know in Penang where can get? U will definitely love BA if u like to go light of road. It really absorb vibration and uneven road nicely. But if u were using stock tyre like 1.5 and below maybe will feel heavier. But if stock Kenda 1.75, it will be lighter even on BA 2.0.Yesterday go bicycle shop ask about tire also. they only have Kenda Kwest only. Not to mention smoother rolling due to low rolling resistant. Overall my bike getting better ride also thanks to Jonny who service my bike and brakes. He was shock that I can even ride with an untune brakes. Lol. He said the shop that I bought this bike should have at least tune the brake. Not no more mushy feel on the brakes anymore. Any the thud thud sound I earlier had also settled by him. The sound was due to over tightening the bearing. |

QUOTE(gilbertlhl @ Aug 23 2013, 02:16 PM) BA is 20x2.0 and yes, lighter than my stock Kenda. This should be due to low quality of the stock Kenda hence the heavier weight and hard.Yes, FRIM entrance by car is Rm7, big bike is RM3 while foldie Rm1. |

Last Saturday join my fren riding with their roadie and me a foldie. Erm, none foldie are seen in Guthrie Highway all the way.
Ride from Bkt Jelutong to Sg Buloh and back. The up and down hill really killing me. There is a group of 50 roadies going quite fast like Letour Langkawi feel. A total of 36km with average 21kph. Attached thumbnail(s) |

Can we change the chain guard to a better one without having to change the whole crankset? Mine seems to patah and bengkok a bit as it is plastic type. Perhaps a metal one will be better. The chain guard is to prevent the chain to drop out in case of sudden jump.
