QUOTE(etigge @ Aug 27 2013, 05:30 PM) I saw your bike the other day. It can be upgraded to double crank, why not? You just need adapters for the FD. I got a friend who even upgraded his Kalaq to double cranks. Here's another Dahon Eco C7 for sale. According to Jonny, cannot upgrade FD as there is no place to mount unless cut some steel of the frame and he said not recommended to do so.http://www.mudah.my/Dahon+eco+c7-22234802.htm P/S. You have to used FSA cranks specifically. There are Shimano Sora or Tiagra and from Shimano there are even the 2000 series which is even much cheaper. The reason why we upgrade is because we want more range in the gear inches but if you are going to change FSA single for the original, there's no advantage except for the weight which I don't think is important for your Ugo. |

QUOTE(etigge @ Aug 28 2013, 10:15 AM) From China worr! What happens if arrives here, it is different. It's a good buy if what they describe is as it is. I have look at your Ugo the other day and I am sure the FD can be done but then again it not worth your while to upgrade, might as well get a better buy. Thing is, your prospective future purchase is also an 8 speeder only worr, no double crank. Yeah, that's what I am worried. China worrr.. hahaI think you should check for Hasa Minimax in Bicycle Buy Sell. I think there's still another one, trying to sell for RM1.3K. Maybe you can negotiate for lower. Should be good for you. No need to upgrade and all. Anyway, for FD if it's not worth to upgrade might as well stay stock. The problem is the Raleigh is so nice to ride now after changing tyre to Scwable BA that I am a bit reluctant to change hence the upgrade thingy came into my mind. Anyway, still undecided. Hasa I dun quite like their design. Maybe a Java Fit or Tern P9 |

QUOTE(cclems @ Aug 29 2013, 05:00 PM) to add on to etigge's post, this bike has gone thru a complete revamp, frame is left original. As far as i remembered when i last saw this bike: Wow, we that amount I think might reach Rm3-5k! it has a shorter fork to accommodate c-brake (lighter) though v brakes at rear, FSA carbon crankset, Deore 2013 groupsets and brake levers, lite-on wheelsets, durano tires, crank brothers pedals, fizik saddle, bla bla bla couldnt remember. Usually people like them owned a few bicycles, when they upgrade their bikes, those old components will be thrown to the old bikes. as mentioned by mr.samo: we ride the bike, not the bike ride us. Do we need to modify that far? Or far you want to go? If your answer is yes, then "no mountain is too high" I am no professional, just normal person who couldnt sit still bicycle enthusiast sharing my thoughts. P/S: the bike doesnt belongs to me too. Cheers. I would buy a proper Verge X10. But as u said, maybe the old part jes throw to this Raleigh Ugo then it make sense lah. |

QUOTE since u got ur eyes on raleigh (raleigh ugo rite?) mr adriankhoo here got one (ah, how to tag his name? n from his post in here (wic is got many nice photos i do tink hes a happy rider of his ugo n he do ride with his friends riding non foldies mr adriankhoo wana say(poison) aniting to him perhaps? Lol, nama saya pon dikeluarkan yah? Well, yeah Raleigh Ugo is a good beginner bike. U wont know if u r into cycling for long term o jes for the sake of satisfying friend request to join them. If u straight buy good bike but later underused it, then it will be wasted lah. Hence Raleigh Ugo is a good beginner bike that cost somewhere Rm680-Rm750. Btw, I didn't mod any part except add on front light, back light and cyclometer. Ohh yah, the best of the best and until now I am still satisfied which my upgrade is slapping a pair of 20x2.0 Schwalbe Big Apple tyre into my Ugo. Super comfortable comparing to stock Kenda tyre. Just try to experience Kenda tyre for a month and later upgrade to BA. You will appreciate BA very much.. Haha After hearing advise from many friends, I decided not to waste money to upgrade crankset etc as at the end, it really wont worth much. The bike will end up being too expensive and afterall it's still the entry level Raleigh. Hence I am aiming for Tern Link P9 and most probably will be getting it by year end. Hope there is year end sales by then. Now Rodalink having 20% discount on all Tern bike. (Ahh side poison, if u have a bit more budget please consider the most basic Tern Link C7 which have now 20% sales at Rodalink Botanic. Is cost about RM1.1k after discount. Really worth it as Tern have very little sales going on as their bike are consider 'premium'.) Anyway some poison picture again. Yesterday riding from Setia Alam to Bukit Cahaya. There is a tangki god with around 15-20% accending which Raleigh Ugo max out halfway up. Largest cog already and already try standing to cycle but the bike jes wont budge. I guess this is the limitation dy.
On the other hand, my fren with Santa Cruz mtb go to the top easily. Later he try going up with my Raleigh and still only halfway. This is me upon reaching Bukit Cahaya. We did some light off road to lake side etc too while on the way there. QUOTE Morning guys, I just wondering any people here from J.Bahru or N.Sembilan? Yup, biologic stuff worth to get. I didn't get the air hon but I do buy their biologic arx grip with tool. Very nice grip with lock position. Exactly like Tern. Keke
Thought of buying Biologic seat post but too heavy. Hence bought topeak hand pump. Rocket racer. Another thing can try is their suspension seatpost Also got myself MKS foldable pedal cost rm99. 50% hence rm49.50. Very worth! This post has been edited by adriankhoo153: Aug 30 2013, 10:36 PM |
