Be patient and gain more experience. There are many better position outside waiting for you. Sooner or later you will leave the company once you have better offer, so don't bother about the pressure you have right now. Consider it as a way to train you up to handle pressure.

poor guy, no knowledge and no guidance, umm, how to do? perhaps u should learn by 'mistake'..

but of course, ur boss will scold if u make mistake.

What to do.. if u really duno how to do that, u feel the tension then apply elsewhere lo.. let him hire the more experience guy and let the new guy settle it by himself..

Lyk,

I had worked 20 years in IT/Datacom/Telecom world.  As far as I can remember, I always have too much to do, too little time to do it and I never know enough.  So, what you are facing is highly normal in an IT world.

Learn to say no.

You are just a pawn.  Why the hell you need to act like a big boss and take on all the responsibility?? You have a boss.  Do not say yes or no.  Just Tai Chi the decision to your boss.  If someone ask you to do something, ask the person to talk to your boss first.  Just say you are a pawn and you need to follow order.  Ask your boss to prioritize the things that you should do.  If he/she does not, then, you prioritze your own list.  If someone want you to do something fast and drop what you are doing now,  tell the person to talk to your boss.  Let your boss make the decision.  You have a boss.  Use it.  Let your boss be the bad guy.  It is his/her job to make this kind of decision.

This is the kind of soft skill that a fresh grad need to learn fast.

Lyk,

You are not the boss.  Do not take on the responsibility of being a boss.  You tell your boss that you need a server to try out before implementing something.  If your boss say it is okay to try out on the production  server, then, you go ahead..  It is not your responsibility then.  Let your boss make the tough decision.  You can only propose and suggest alternative.  It is up to your boss to make the decision.

IT IS NOT YOUR JOB!!!

Learn how to let your boss make the decision.

Lyk,

Why do you spend more time worry about what people think of you as opposed to spend more time on how to do your job??? For example, if you post a question on this forum, "I do not know X, where can I find information on X and learn about this", someone could have help you. Ditto, there are many web site on Internet that can asnwer questions.

But, instead seeking help, you are just venting and whining. How productive this is??

The truth is you do not know anything and so far you are just whining.

I dont believe you didnt smile.gif

If you think boss distrust you and you wont get much advancement at this company, then time to plan for a move. Sometimes if the boss dun like you it means he dont like you, no matter what you do.

Actually when you start work, you shouldnt look at the salary as it wont get too far out there anyway. You should like at the experience and the future prospect.

PROs of staying:
That kinda salary is good, who knows after training they will pay you more. WOW. And pal, your salary now is higher than me, one who has 5 years experience at what I do for a living. So sad lol but at least I enjoy my work. There's a saying: What Does NOT Kill You Will Make You Stronger! So stay on if you can take the pressure but learn to say no at time. wink.gif

PROs of leaving:
Can't take the stress? LEAVE! Put down your feet, march to your superior's office and kindly ask for a short meeting. Tell him honestly how you feel. If you can't cope, say so. Don't be afraid. You are only human. If he understands, he will do something about it. If he doesn't then it's hasta la vista, babeh. rclxms.gif

Good luck, pal!

Hi lyk,

From the msg you posted, i can see you are very frust

i know you must be very angry,

But in the real world, whenever you go .... you still have to learn yourself

there is not really something called training provided nowaday.

Even when i was undergrad[industrial training], they also expect me alone to solve everything

Stay or Go ?

Think ...

if you think you are good enough --> go ahead resign and find another good offer

How many % of chances you can find another offer that better than current?

People paid more and they expect more also.

If u leave, chances are your next place will be giving just as much headache as the current one. Learn to work under tough conditions first smile.gif

U seem to be one-leg kicking for your IT dept right now. As you're still early in career, this could be advantegeous. Think of the stuff you can put in your resume, it will be of great help when you're ready to move on.

Frustrated? Indeed, this is how IT life is, all those technical and mechanical things everybody expect you know. This is very stressful seriously. Imagin you are cracking head to figure out why the damn machine doesn't work, the staff standing beside popping out questions to you every 20 seconds..... or 10 staff surrounded you and each of them asking you to do things while you got 10 more to-do list in your personal queue... or your senior/boss saying something very alien to you and expect you to understand and want you to configure the thing immediately... rclxub.gif

Seriously la, I think IT job is for superman. IT scope is almost EVERYTHING, you cannot be too specialised in one damn thing and concentrate on it. You must be willing to grab every shit into your brain and FAST.

Know what, i am seriously considering finding a kampung land to plant jagung... well, maybe i will head cracking for those pest eating up my jagung then...
