Ask your boss to prioritize the things that you should do. If he/she does not, then, you prioritze your own list. If someone want you to do something fast and drop what you are doing now, tell the person to talk to your boss. Let your boss make the decision. You have a boss. Use it. Let your boss be the bad guy. Lyk, You are not the boss. Do not take on the responsibility of being a boss. You tell your boss that you need a server to try out before implementing something. If your boss say it is okay to try out on the production server, then, you go ahead.. It is not your responsibility then. Let your boss make the tough decision.
