QUOTE(lyk @ May 24 2006, 10:16 AM)
this is the 4th weeks of working in my company... i wonder what should i do?... should i stay or should i resign...

here it goes the story... i was been told in the interview that i'll be given a training on company system in order to understand the overall company system... but i was been fooled as they didn't even give me any training and expect me to know everything...  vmad.gif ...

i already tried my best to do whatever i had been asked to do but sometimes really can't figure it out... somemore everyone keep rushing me... even though when i'm very busy, some of them still add burden to me by asking me to do this and that... i had been scolded by my boss few times because of this...  cry.gif ...

the funniest thing is, i'm the only one who are in charge of IT department... nobody else... shouldn't the company hire another It staff?...

Ahhh friend, rm2.1k is quite ok for a fresh grads, I just got increment only got this level sad.gif outside there IT job market.... i dont know, how is IT job market now? Is it still as bad as 2 years ago?

The situation you stated is very similar to my experience too, let it be, as this is how an IT people life is. Remember when i first start working, wahlaoehhh, cant even manage to walk from 1st floor to 2nd floor, coz in the stairway got people tahan you already for work, even thou you have 4~5 request on hand and a your handphone ringing. I tell you at that time, i work until nearly crazy, really stressful. Especially when the staff keep talk talk talk about sometime wanting you to do and you totally no idea what the hell is it.

And you cant expect them to teach you everything, you have to learn yourself, it is not easy but this is the way it is. When time pass, you will eventually know how to deal with each of the situation here, and you will no longer feel rushing for anything and just do your work steadily.

Maybe you hv to spend time manage your interpersonal relationship as well, make as many people happy as possible, if cant, at least make the few big heads happy biggrin.gif coz they are the one affecting your pay directly.

Also, yes, very importantly, must learn how to tai chi, dont take responsibility completely everytime.

Resign is the worst idea, unless you can get some better place to go. Otherwise it is a bad record for you.

Dreamer and Rexis,

the problem is even the boss doesn't believe me... i told him this is what the senior asked me to do to overcome the problem but he insisted in calling my senior to ask about it...

yes both of you are right about the having the eager to learn new things... this is what i expected... but how do i learn if i can't do any practical on it?... by reading the theory is not enough... 100% theory without practical = 0 ...

what i deal here is the overall company system... i couldn't do an experiment on the server which running a big business... what if the server crash because of me?... i couldn't bear the losses...

really in the middle of nowhere... now still exploring how to solve the problem for one of the director here... gosh... what can i do?...  icon_question.gif ...

I know how it feel when your boss showing that he do not believe you, i was like that before. Now handling one whole branch, although not perfect but my boss willing to rely on me.

Just try your best there, you just hv to know that your boss is not an idiot, if you are really good, he will value you. You have to show him you can really do work, and you willing to dedicate on your job.

If you think you did your best and you feel that your boss still do not appreciate you lor, maybe its time for you to make a change. Give yourself 2 more months to figure this out.

Never easy to be an employee, i hv been thinking about quitting bout my job since day one smile.gif and go plant vegetable...

I dont believe you didnt smile.gif

If you think boss distrust you and you wont get much advancement at this company, then time to plan for a move. Sometimes if the boss dun like you it means he dont like you, no matter what you do.

Actually when you start work, you shouldnt look at the salary as it wont get too far out there anyway. You should like at the experience and the future prospect.

ya, kinda frustrated...

i know one leg kicking also consider good as i can learn a lot of things... the problem is i don even have time to learn... everyone keep on pushing me... one IT staff isn't enough...  sad.gif ...

from what i know so far, boss is looking for experience staff... why employ me then?...  vmad.gif ...

Frustrated? Indeed, this is how IT life is, all those technical and mechanical things everybody expect you know. This is very stressful seriously. Imagin you are cracking head to figure out why the damn machine doesn't work, the staff standing beside popping out questions to you every 20 seconds..... or 10 staff surrounded you and each of them asking you to do things while you got 10 more to-do list in your personal queue... or your senior/boss saying something very alien to you and expect you to understand and want you to configure the thing immediately... rclxub.gif

Seriously la, I think IT job is for superman. IT scope is almost EVERYTHING, you cannot be too specialised in one damn thing and concentrate on it. You must be willing to grab every shit into your brain and FAST.

Know what, i am seriously considering finding a kampung land to plant jagung... well, maybe i will head cracking for those pest eating up my jagung then...
