QUOTE(ChinWY @ Nov 30 2013, 10:32 AM) Bottom line is charge current.. it has the highest risk in frying any electronic hardware when condition is wrong. USB connectors are known to be flaky and making bad or poor contacts means higher current being pump into the system to keep things going. I will not go into typical reconstruction of a failure but they are your highest bet to cause problems. It becomes worst when connectors are tiny. Over time.. it will hit is MTBF and you will increase the risk of roasting your camera. For a very good charger for anything above 3.7 volts cells (ie 1 cell = 3.7V.. most are 2 cells), it is best to have a charger that will do balance charging.. ie the battery will have ability for you to individually access each of the cell independently and charge them individually until they are all the same voltage. But handphone also same . I'm willing to take the risk, very unlikely to happen.

Where to buy NP-FW50 battery apart from online? Prefer around Petaling jaya or KL. Price below RM80.

QUOTE(samsungfreak @ Oct 5 2013, 01:00 AM) 5. Just get a 3rd party battery NP-FW50. Depends on the brand it can be between RM30 to RM80. They are as good as the genuine one but cost significantly less. I bought 1 and it is unable to charge. Yours can charge? Do I need a third party CHARGER to charge it?

QUOTE(samsungfreak @ Dec 11 2013, 03:38 PM) I bought a few variation, all can use the original charger to charge or charge in the camera (Nex 6). I googled about it and a lot of issue about NEX 5N not being able to support 3rd party batteries, but mine is 3N. I go bring back to shop and see what they say.

Went back to shop, the seller tried with a few more batteries (same type) and all cant work. He suspect that the ori charger dun recognize 3rd party batt. So i bought a 3rd party charger for rm70. Not sure if I have made the right choice.

QUOTE(NightFelix @ Dec 11 2013, 04:55 PM) Then future all spare battery you just have to buy back 3rd party battery in order for to fully utilize your 3rd party charger. 1 spare battery should be enough la. Unless u got other meaning in your sentence. QUOTE(samsungfreak @ Dec 11 2013, 05:10 PM) Already paid then forget about it lor. Don't calculate lor. Keep shooting!

Whenever I flip up the screen on my NEX 3N, the self-timer is set to 3 secs. How to change it to 10 secs?

Why does the pic appear to have a bit of fisheye effect? The lines on d side are supposed to be straight. A common sight, reseen by Daniel Chuah, on Flickr Im using std 16-50mm lens on nex 3n. This post has been edited by danielcmugen: May 30 2014, 03:50 AM

QUOTE(SSJBen @ May 30 2014, 04:54 AM) Barrel distortion. Very common on the kit lens. You can correct it in lightroom. Not a defective unit right? Which lightroom function to use?

QUOTE(buyou12 @ Jun 10 2014, 02:15 PM) Hi guys, I am a noobie when it comes to camera and the last camera i bought was a point and shoot. My sis in law and friend had a nex-3 and it produced very stunning result. I am going on a trip to europe and I am hoping that I can take some pictures of my memories there. I am interested in a Sony Alpha camera. Anyone got any suggestions? Should I go for a A5000, Nex-6 or A6000? What's the difference? I have no idea how to play with exposure, WB etc. Would it be better for me to go back to a point and shoot camera? Would appreciate if anyone can give me some pointers. Thanks! If u are stunned by nex-3 (I assume it's with kit lens) result, I believe Sony RX100 2 will be sufficient for auto-mode usage. The compact body will be a plus.

QUOTE(nixonyang @ Jul 12 2014, 02:27 AM) why so soft? did you encounter any water vapour or condensation? It's a used minolta legacy lens . I thought the main prob here is why is there some glow around the flowers?

QUOTE(nixonyang @ Jul 13 2014, 12:36 AM) I thought the glow around the border is caused by condensation also, happened to me before. It will some how diffuse everything. Since my lens is a used 1, is it a defected unit? Can use software to correct it?

QUOTE(nixonyang @ Jul 14 2014, 03:13 AM) for that question sadly i have no answer for you since i never used non-emount on my nex before. Depends on how you want your picture to look if you want to use software. Try troubleshooting one by one starting from the adapter you used perhaps. Just my 2 cents QUOTE(albnok @ Jul 14 2014, 11:34 AM) Aiya, it's the white balance and clipped colors. http://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/2341304I just want to remove the glow around the flowers
