1. Yes. Hypptv has HD channel so HDMI connection is needed.

2. Computer you need some kind of video capturing device/ card, HDMI Splitter (optional if the device has it) and HDCP stripper

Once you successfully setup (2) then you can broadcast via youtube live/ twitch.tv so that your ipad can watch.

Anyone has access to a Slingbox? Wondering if you pass the HyppTV box to SlingBox without HDCP stripper, will the HDCP block the SlingBox from relaying the channel?

I think it's still available. And the HD channels if I'm not mistaken are downscaled to SD on Streamyx HyppTV. But best to confirm with TM.

yup, the fact that no HD for streamyx still remain. I've asked few person from TM Point at my place, the same question to the HyppTV page on FB. The only thing the HD promotion does not state clearly that streamyx users wouldn't enjoy these, even at their channels listing for streamyx the HD is there printed; very misleading to my observation.

Not to interrupt anyone, but I managed to install apps on HyppTV STB without UART. Should I release it?

yes, I think no problem to share the hacking method you've succeeded. Just put the disclaimer that it will be on their own risk or will void the warranty in case something bad happened biggrin.gif

The HyppTV promotion is cheating.

I was billed RM199 +RM50 for 2 months. First month when received bill and filed complaint, they told me would get rebate in next month's bill. Upon receiving Feb one, still get billed RM199+50 without rebate for last month and current month.

VIP10..? for rm199 rite..?

any sports channel..? ..RM50 for what..?

Well, as I said, a possibility could be that the HD channel is there, just that Screamyx users get a version that is resampled to ED (SD resolution but widescreen). Or it could be using adaptive bitrate and the resolution is based on network speed.

Well, as I said before, TM accountants are clowns. Once you pay, you must call them to make sure payment get through. Most likely your payment got rejected (or worse, got pocket by those clowns). Time to call them up and belasah...

Beware of the term & condition. I believe they will force you to bind contract for 2 years. Hate this, I'm waiting my contract to expire now, n may be change to abxness or time broadband for faster Internet speed wif less $$$$

Both ABNXcess and Time, quite limited la their coverage.

I am still using the old CRT TV and planning ahead to get a good LCD/LED TV that has HDMI and supports good reso as well, not only to STB but I am planing to build my own media server that runs XBMC from it. In curiosity to see how good HD in hypptv, I went to a friend's house as he subscribed to Mega and Sports packs, seen all the said HD channels myself I've to agree that what I've seen is not really a HD, but SD with good reso. Both of us went to TM Point and asked them about these HD thingy, the guy explained to us that no HD for streamyx currently.
I brought this matter to Hypp World (hypptv fb page), quoted some of related Q&A from them:-

QUOTE
As long as you using Streamyx, u can view only in SD but it will be more clear and no buffering when you watch HyppTV.
thanks

QUOTE
well Farid from what I got with hypp on streamyx and using 1080 full HD Bravia 42 inch ... the STB only runs well in Components. Even with the HDMI cable with setting in 1080p/i ... it will auto sync down to 546 only. So I gone back to component and freed up the HDMI, since no point watching SD with HDMI
QUOTE
You're right, Adam. No point in watching SD with HDMI. However, I noticed that my HDTV does detect the signals from the STB as 1080i even tho the picture quality is like either 480i or 576i. Amen to the HDTV upscaling tho... at least 'em SD channels still looking better and clearer (as if 720p with low sharpness) than on other TVs out there.

QUOTE
Hi Adam..
HyppTV over Streamyx allowing only for SD (Standard Definition) content.
