My phone suddenly bricked when I left it idle during dinner. Charging it now but nothing's happening.

How long is Nokia warranty? I have a few days left till a year.

what phone?? info please, tried soft reset it?

If charging and the windows logo is blinking meaning completely out of battery.
Give it a longer time to charge. I have never heard a bricked lumia unless stuck in spinning cog.

Phone totally bricked. I can't explain it. Suddenly after dinner, nothing was working. Screen blank, buttons all not responding, my L720 literally became a red brick.

I left it wall-charging overnight but nothing happened. So I left it longer this morning, but miraculously now okay d. But my phone seems to be slower than before. I'm still sending it for repair, but I think I gotta revert to 8.0 first.

You are going to need to revert back. If not cannot claim warranty.

Yup, doing that now.Thanks for the advice. But I think that I'm gonna send my phone to Amcorp Mall tomorrow. I've got some problems with my SIM card tray too.

Very true. Battery life improves and it's even better than 8.0 for me.

so the update solve battery issues? because i once update to 8.1, but cannot handle with the bug and issues, i revert back to 8.0, so any advice, should i update to 8.1 back? *using lumia 1020 here

finally....after asking a lot of famous shop and even official nokia retailler shop with dissapointment level too damm high (no stock)


i got my Lumia 1020 a few days back...its in white...very much like Luke in white versus his "dad" darth vader black....

as in this case...white lumia 1020 meet the granddad LG Viewty KU990 black

a few days back when my phone was runing stock OS fresh out of box..it totally suck battery and unusially hot even with just short fb browsing using uc browser (in speed mode to reduce data transfer)...

today after fully updated into black and then 8.1...i would say...i'm really happy i choose this phone....i got everything i need...even SMS tone can be changed now...wallah....


(my previous lumia was Lumia900 dev. unlocked which is still pretty limited apart from sideloaded screen capture and hacked xbox games)




now the only waiting game is WHATSAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

agree with you! so last week, i just give it a try and update to 8.1, got to say the battery life has amazingly improved! now i love my lumia even more! but true. have to wait for whatsapp for now..

Are we going to have a dedicated thread for WP8.1 or do we still stick with this thread?

I think the Microsoft-Nokia deal slowed down WP, but now that it's done new models like Lumia 630 and 930 are out or on the way, and the official WP8.1 is coming soon, then hopefully things can warm up again soon.

New models from other big brands like Samsung, Sony, Lenovo are too slow coming.
