The bug fix update is for those who would like to update to 8.1 but can't (they get stuck after applying the 8.0 patch needed for the 8.1 upgrade), it's not an 8.1 update per say.

Battery is draining pretty bad. That is probably because any new apps you run after the upgrade will automatically be allowed to run in the background. You will need to go into the settings and disable those apps that you do not wish to run in the background.

If you're using Cortana, then Location is also on all the time (otherwise Cortana will not run and all the things associated with Cortana such as Quiet Hours will also be disabled).

It is called Developer Preview for a reason. It is not the final version of 8.1 so bugs and all sorts of issues should be expected.

i have no problem in people hub. even have lots of linked account between facebook contact and microsoft mail contact.

It's called "Developer Preview" because they're meant for developer to test and optimize their app on the new OS update, not to test the OS update itself.

The WP 8.1 Developer Preview is the final build. This is the RTM version of WP 8.1. And like any other OS, it has bugs. Personally I think the Lumia Cyan update may only resolve hardware-related issue. As for OS bugs, I expect no less than a GDR update to resolve it.

guys, need some help here. i can't get online using my data. already did the soft reset and nothing works.. it works on my 620 but not my 630.. using maxis in 630.. can anyone solve this? btw, both was on 8.1 dev preview..

sorry, it is 625. my bad. btw, my access point seems fine. same thing happen to my 620 but soft reset did the job. however, the same thing didn't occur to my 625. soft reset solved nothing. is there any way to solved this other than hard reset? pretty painful to do it..huu

have you tried swapping sim cards?

set network to 3G rather than 4G?

try toggling Flight Mode?

last resort, do hard reset (backup the Apps + Settings using WiFi first, then you can restore when the phone reboots).

guys, i have this problem where my 920 will hang and every buttons don't work, so i have to soft reset it everytime it happens.

do any1 of u have this problem as well?? when it happens my screen is always black, so im not sure whether is it hang/freeze when screen time out or my whole device just shut off and have to soft reset. anyone know y??

When I used to have my 920, it happens sometime for unknown reason even before 8.1.
I would consider it quite normal. It also happen when I'm about wake it up to sleep.

screen freezed when start charging..need to restart or wait a little..it happens after upgrade to wp 8.1

im using 925..

Yet to face any freezing or needing to soft reset on 1020 once upgraded to 8.1

but for my case i have yet to encounter freeze when charging. it frustrate me when i am sleeping coz if it hangs no alarm for me

before 8.1 i do encounter it too. but i though 8.1 will solve this issue. it seems it's not going away and now it's happening more than usual.
