Quick question ..

Just got myself a simple trainer (http://www.minoura.jp/english/trainer/tire-drive/b60r.html) and also a new computer (Cateye Cadence) to allow me to get some cycling in during daytime when it's too hot outside tongue.gif

What's the best method to use a trainer? Find a resistance level you're comfortable with then stick to a certain speed / cadence?

Never had a cadence meter before , only ever paid attention to speed (outside of course, not on the trainer)

depends on which perspective you are looking from... both are different pedigree of bikes... each has it's benefits and disadvantages....you need to know what you are looking for first...

Hmm i need urgent adjustment on my saddle as i mess up the set up and its making my balls numb. Anyone can recommend good fitter that can help me adjust the saddle, i just need to sort the saddle. Other stuff like seatpost height are okay for me. I was thinking KH Cycles or bike pro since they carry Scott but are they good enough for the job?

Would love to hear suggestion from you guys. Does Godzilla cycle guy do good job on bike fitting?

Since we have ultra runner around here like Vinn_Ann, Syamillion, BH, lil, Appreciate your input. I need a recommendation to buy a running shorts, like a compression shorts...I have a 10 km event on 8/9/13.
Was thinking of using my cycling short but afraid I will embarrass our cycling community here....advice please.
Also any good running shoe, just for consideration if I am going to pick up running for fun.

Shoes, just check your foot structure. Runner Lab from Tropicana City Mall provides such service. I like Saucony and VFF but I no money sad.gif

Shorts, very subjective and strongly depends on how long the distance is. Some get inner thigh chaffing before 10k some none. I get it easily hence I prefer a pair of compression shorts.

Compression shorts like 2XU and Skins can be rather expensive, no Under Armour here and so I went with Nike. Quality wise, meh, but so far, good enough for legs workout days or running days. Placebo perhaps but I do feel that I perform better with it.

BTW, not ultra runner here, just a casual one going for his first ever half :/ paiseh

when the freak have i became a runner... point your gun at miao lar...

shorts jus buy those lycra can adi lar... normal ones will do adi... or those running shorts also can unless you are worried that your big ball bearings swinging around and ppl noticing lar...

there are some that is meant for duathlon / triathlons that can serve both for cycling and running and usually has a thinner padding so you dun run like u had sprsbtsx the night before...

shoes is something i know nothing about.. i have no shoe fetishes.. my friend told me the shoe thing is shits.. worry more about your foot strike better as that help alleviate the pressure rather than depending on the shoes to do the job...

for me, why run when you can tenga??? that or drive...else, why the heck did i spend 1/3 of my hard earned money every month paying for a big chunk of motorized metal and then go out and run when i can enjoy the luxury of my air-conditioned, music playing motorized transport just to realize that i have two legs that is still functioning...

running is over-rated....
