Probably just me but I actually enjoyed the cassete minions more than soundwave himself so Hasbro's a really good choice.

I wouldn't have enjoyed the figure that much if I had laserbeak only.

Yeah, but that won't happen so soon with Hasbro Soundwave..maybe another 3-4 months? But seeing how fast the stocks are being snapped up, not sure whether there will be any left after 3-4 months

TRU OP I think suffering that fate now..already price slash..but is TRU Rodimus now cheaper than during launch? Coz it seems rare to me now..saw a TRU at a toyshop selling above RM300 recently..anybody remembered what was the retail price of TRU Rodimus during launch?

I got TRU Rodimus last year for RM200+ (maybe RM230 or something around there) from a toy shop at Times Square... can't remember exactly how much I paid and how much it was originally at TRU though.

the main diff is the price between the 2!

design wise they r basically the same. the obvious diff is only the color of the eyes. hasbro yellow while takara red. other minor diff will be a "CE" chop and a panel not painted silver at the leg of hasbro version.

i am so digging the 3rd party warbotron non bruticus now..sold off my takara+fp bruticus for the new one. hopefully i did the right choice n the project can materialize..

Haha... nowadays collecting Transformers isn't as simple as before. Previously only Hasbro/TakaraTomy dominating the market but with so many 3rd party companies churning out decent TF figure (not to mention expensive since mostly are one time production) a lot of collectors are turning towards collecting 3rd party TFs since they prove to have more value due to their original designs. It doesn't help the fact that Has/Tak most of the time just slap a new coat of paint/tweak a mold slightly and calling it an "Exclusive" but who knows... things might change with the new Generations line (but even with that 3rd party also seem triumphant as a lot of them are producing upgrade/add-on part which make Has/Tak figure look even better).

Hmm...seems like the TRU Rodimus that i saw selling at RM300+ is still higher than retail i actually do not have much use for Rod's trailer...still in the box if i have seen the TRU Rodimus, i might have just bought the TRU version...save a couple of hundred bucks.


er...the main difference is the 4 extra cassettes bro! that's the deal breaker for many people...

this i agree...and i am a sucker for G1 combiners. too bad we did not see any interesting combiners from taktom or hasbro..and this is where i think 3rd party triumphant over em (and maybe some like hexatron & quakewave)..still, i liked the taktom/hasbro iteration of the newer TF Prime as well as Generations line. no contest there from 3rd parties
