Confirm RM599.95. Including all 5 'minions', consider OK la..just curious, what do u think is the fair price? Collector's item mah, not toys per se..biggrin.gif
Edit: sumone in Garage Sales is selling MIB (opened for checking) item for RM620 sweat.gif
*
Hehe I also noticed that rm620 sale. If item is hard to find can understand lah, but looks like a lot of stock at the moment.

As for fair price...err... RM499 maybe? biggrin.gif But yeah I guess need to factor in the cassette price also...

Hehe..stocks r everywhere man tongue.gif

yup, cassette price is a factor..especially price for Ravage n Frenzy combo..
*
Ok so this is what annoys me a little:

http://www.toysrus.com/buy/action-figures/...-a4348-19038126

Price in US is only $120. That's less than RM400! Such a big markup for Malaysia right???

Pricing strategy differs from market to market..cannot compare direct conversion rates ah..
Yup, saw the Construct Bots at Empire TRU yesterday too..
*
Normally I'd agree with you, but there are limits to price variation in today's globalized market, and a markup of over 40% is a little ridiculous. These are toys, not cars with crazy government tax slapped on them haha.

Apparently it's sold out in US for now, second batch is coming late August. If at this point supply is able to catch up with demand, it could easily work out cheaper to buy Soundwave MP on eBay US, even with shipping cost factored in:

RM380 for item + RM80 ~ RM150 for shipping = total cost of between RM460 ~ RM530. That's a saving of up to RM130 on the local TRU price! Will also be interesting to see if local toyshops bring him in. Either way I'm buying, but don't know if can wait so long tongue.gif

LOL! Where can work bro? I know what ur wife is thinking..."RM599.95 for that plastic toy?!" tongue.gif

It's just like 20 years ago, trying to convince parents to get us the toy sweat.gif
*
Haha so true! I just got mine at TRU in Hartamas. 5 or 6 units of Soundwave MP remaining there. Acid Storm got 2 or 3. And a few units of Ultra Magnus Platinum Edition.

Wife's response when she found out the price was "...Wow. Well it's your money, up to you if you want to spend it on a 5 year old's toys..."

Heheh... women will never understand tongue.gif

Just unboxed my TRU MP Soundwave and realized I'm either blind... or the instructions are missing! Anyone else have this problem? Will need to take it back to TRU tomorrow...

Yeah lesson learned... will do that next time. Hope TRU doesn't accuse me of lying tomorrow hmm.gif

The dilemma of a 29-year-old TF fan:

I love buying the more 'mature' looking Transformers, specifically the Masterpiece series.

But after buying, I don't really know what to do with it.

I feel it's cheesy to display it in my living room or bedroom.

Keeping it unboxed for years is a waste, better just don't buy.

And, I'm too old to play with it for longer than 10 mins.

How like this? tongue.gif

haha. i know that feeling. I also like "mature" "toys". when i say mature it meaned, " less than 30years old"  brows.gif

Just keep for display or like Chan, just leave it intact, dont open at all. MISB.  brows.gif

eh, why cannot play more than 10mins?
*
Hehe. I like to admire my TFs, but as for playing... not sure what to do. Don't want to transform back and forth too many times, in case the joints get loose (Masterpiece quite expensive right? tongue.gif ). I used to play make believe Autobot VS Decepticon battles when I was a kid, but can't really do it now la haha...

QUOTE(HxiiiK @ Aug 5 2013, 02:35 PM)
i see no problem playing with the toys, it's what they're made for tongue.gif for me, i have some scouts and deluxes within my reach, displayed around my workspace to transform back and forth while taking a break from work or brainstorming.. i don't see a problem with it tongue.gif after all, they're a feat of engineering, not just simple toys!
*
Yeah I always tell my wife the same thing! They're feats of engineering. This creativity is one thing that we as adults can still easily appreciate. I always wondered what kind of people end up becoming TF designers.

Maybe you should find a playmate.  tongue.gif
Loose joints can fix. I never transformed my Masterpiece more than 2 times. from Robot mode to vehicle mode then back to robot mode again. Then back to the box aka "Hibernation Mode"

Buy legends, deluxe and voyager for "play time", MP for "posing purposes".

dude, i'm older than u man, and i dun feel cheesy displaying my MPs in my living room...in fact, when got visitors, they will admire my collection biggrin.gif after all, they're feats of engineering....put it in a cabinet, and never transformed before...yeap, that's rite, still in 'virgin' robot mode....call me weird, but i just dun transform them...straight from box to cabinet....sweat.gif
*
Hehe I guess we all got our weirdness... mine is I like my TF to come in vehicle mode, so I can enjoy transforming it into robot mode just ONE time... then never again. I get pissed off when my TF comes in robot mode out of the box, cause then I miss out on the satisfaction tongue.gif

Oh wow.... I feel your pain bros but some of these comments are hilarious...

I hope it's ok if I propose a reminder to everyone here including myself:

1. You are a MAN. Unless you are a jobless boy who takes money from your parents or wife/gf, you should be free to spend your hard earned cash however you wish. Hiding things and sneaking around like a squirrel is not healthy for our relationships or our own self respect!

2. But to balance out the above: as MEN we also have a responsibility to spend our money wisely... which includes not getting into credit card debt or blowing big chunks of our savings on freaking TOYS. If we are spending thousands of ringgit on pieces of plastic, but we don't even have a decent house, some good investments, and AT LEAST six months of our income stored away in savings... then there's no wonder our wives/gfs are worried!

The moral of the story, at least for me, is please be a responsible TF collector for your own sake and your loved ones flex.gif

By the way, TRU got mark down on old masterpiece now.

How much markdown? On which models exactly? I saw thundercracker a few days ago was RM299, but if I'm not mistaken that's the regular price.

USD300??!! the one with the stand? if that's the PO price, then it's even more expensive the the scalped price of exsiting MP-10!! IT-Toys 'only' selling MISB MP-10 for RM800 tongue.gif
er...if the reissue is USD300, then it's still overkill...but i doubt any reissue will be that expensive unsure.gif

i prefer Takara version too...the blue is much more darker, looks better...Hasbro's one light blue looks too 'cartoon-y'...for me at least smile.gif
*
What about MP10B? The Nemesis Prime version? Seems to be quite widely available on eBay for under RM400.

No trailer, and the color is of course not the ori red + blue... but at least can still get the MP10 mold.

Yea its exactly the same aesthetically but since the components /mould are copied, the quality is way below par with some loose joints. Mine snapped after being handled/transformed for a few times. For display only I guess.

I clicked on your sig and saw your custom Lego creations... and OMG... your stuff is mind-blowing notworthy.gif

Alphaplex is my fav.

Whoever you are, I hope you have a job with Hasbro/Lego...

*
I also prefer the red & blue... but I don't want the trailer and I don't want to pay more than RM400+ for it.

Just curious - why do some collectors keep their TF in MISB condition?

If for investment purposes I understand... but if you collect for fun, don't you get itchy to hold your TF and transform it at least once?
