if got leak, check the power steering pump/seals

chances are the sound from there also. shouldn't need to replace the rack just yet.

For an amateur like me, would you recommend doing car brakes bleeding DIY? Else how much should I expect to have them changed at a shop?

pretty much same/similar happened to me and i just replaced the starter and problem completely solved.

also no click nothing and i have to wait a while until it decides to start again. (can get frustrating at times sad.gif )

Starter changed by workshop, cost RM170 (reconditioned unit + labour).
Now the cranking sounds different - like ' wheeeee...'
This job is difficult to DIY due to the location of the starter which is hidden behind the engine block under the manifolds, compared to my previous car starter was easy to DIY.
Now monitoring to see if the starting system misbehaves again …

i don't recommend if you don't know what you're doing.

this service cost between 50-100 depending on how much they charge on labor.
that's not inclusive of standard DOT3/4 brake fluid which cost between 30-50/liter

Dear Sifu,sifu,

I need to fixed my Yr.2000 Iswara Gearbox 1.5 (A). 2nd to 3rd gear takes a while to lock-up. it happened 2 months back, then it went ok and the problem came back a week ago and the problem is worse then before.
May I know the best place to have it fixed in the shortest time and estimate damage to my wallet?
I live around Kepong....Thanks.

tried changing the ATF/using additive like lubegard red/platinum yet before committing to costlier fixes such as overhauls?

Dear sifus,

Just went and replace my honk, the mechanic honk it and it sound normal when my key is not in the ignition, and then I paid the mechanic n forgot to get receipt, and when I got home and try the honk it's not working again, with my key in the ignition, I haven't tried to honk it without key though.

I've done some survey and some say that it's the bad grounding wire or something, anyone know that is this gonna cost me anything?

I'm going back to the shop tmr n hopefully they wont refuse to fix it since I don't have a receipt.

The horn works whether there is key in ignition or not.

First thing you can check is the fuse (no.13). However the fault could also be from things other than the earthing, such as the switch and circular contact at the steering wheel, the wiring etc and need to troubleshoot to find out....

It is difficult to estimate the cost because the fault could be a simple thing like a loose connection (zero cost), a fuse (<RM1) or could be a defective new horn (price of a new horn). Or could be the circular contact (member gemini sharti have repaired his), or the plastic actuator at the steering wheel. It is necessary to trace the defect and furthermore the cost of the part depends on whether it can be repaired or need to replace.

The shop guys are obliged to make good their work, whether there is a receipt or not.
