btw

when air filter kena engine oil

whats the sign for the engine ????

Possible causes:
1) Worn-out piston rings causing excessive blow-by that exceed what PCV system can cope
2) PCV valve fault/jammed
3) Leaks at vacuum hoses or gasket that affect the vacuum function of PCV valve

Did you see oil stains at the hole at bottom of air filter housing where a hose connects to the valve/camshaft cover?

RM60 = 28.6 litres @ present prices for RON95
Your FC is 11.2 km/l which is about average for the age of car and type of driving.

The easiest thing you can DIY is to check the PCV valve & hose for blockage.

My Iswara modding journey has finally ended! Target horsepower figure has been achieved and car is relatively problem free.

A good lesson I learnt during the final step of my journey - sequential exhaust header with long primaries provides solid gains over the already good PZ 4-2-1 extractor. I don't think there are aftermarket sequential headers for 4g13/5 engines.. had mine custom made.

congratulations bro, still keeping the car right? or moving on?

i'm still semi retiring my journey... was supposed to end it as i just gotten a new ride; however the last speedfest results really re-sparked a lot of previously extinguished flame i had towards the car.

still working to solve a lot of suspension mysteries i have towards the car laugh.gif

power was never an issue unless i goto tracks like sepang, which is a lost cause unless i decide to go manual transmission for the car...
i already have a much better car that can enable me to tackle sepang with much less handicap wink.gif
btw i gotten 1 more video out http://youtu.be/kMRc-ny7jwk?a (full info on vid description) which i will compile and re-post on this thread too once they are done.

asap on the speedfest 2nd place vid too tongue.gif

Still keeping the car bro. It'll stay with me until it bites the dust, hehe. Just needs a new coat of paint and she's like new!

Well, it's custom made stainless steel, 1-3 and 2-4 sequential pairing instead of conventional 1-4 2-3 pairing. Large internal diameter for high rpm application with long primaries so as to keep exhaust velocity high. Gains consistent 10-20 whp over PZ header throughout rpm range. But take with pinch of salt as dyno used for PZ and the one used for this header is different type, dynojet vs. dynapack. But definitely can feel quite significant difference throughout entire range. Cost me RM 1.2k though..

hehe mine bit the dust i also didn't want to let go. so it's basically either i bite the dust first (and probably my family member get rid of it cry.gif ), or we both bite it some horrible car crash or something la laugh.gif
*touch wood*

speaking of paint, will need new roof sheets as mine is bubbling... maybe i'll get it done 1-2 years time once my inspira officially takes over as my daily ride lol

ic. wats d theory wit 1-3, n 2-4? it seems like same price wit merril performance 4-1 header ...

Haha, I expected biting the dust to be somewhat less violent ending than yours.. oh, you mean the Inspira is your weekend car?

Theoretically better scavenging cos stronger vacuum pulse generated. So since firing order is 1-3-4-2 then cylinder 1 exhaust cycle will scavenge cylinder 3 intake directly. Combi of cylinders 1 and 3 flow will then assist with filling cylinder 4. And cylinder 4 exhaust pulse will again directly affect no.2. Uh,i hope i got that right... there are some articles on sequential vs non sequential pairing on the net..

yeah at the moment my iswara still remains my daily ride as it has ICE done while the inspira is still stock standard pending money sweat.gif

also
http://www.fuelly.com/driver/quazacolt/saga vs http://www.fuelly.com/driver/quazacolt/inspira
iswara is actually having better FC than the inspira LOL!

btw you checked your valve clearance? that thing gave SIGNIFICANT boost in power (buttdyno) and FC (fuelly as linked above)... i'm really curious what the dyno figures will show...

=edit=
of course the xw30 motul (in conjunction with the valve clearance) maybe the deciding factor instead, but i suppose both are worth looking at...

referring the old service manuals by mitsubishi, i've gotten the valve clearance done as per spec (which in turn popped out cold start issue as my auto choke is dead, and thermostat removed sad.gif ) and engine oil according to previous xw30 specification (API SG, btw).

really not sure why malaysia specifies xw50 officially sad.gif

can take a look at that sexy custom exhaust header tongue.gif

Yep prior to dyno I had a compression test done and valve clearances adjusted. Agreed valve clearance affects a lot!

Wow your iswara is fuel efficient. Haha mine gets around 10km/l only full urban driving.

we pretty much have the same FC (around 10km/l), only difference is that mine would be considered more efficient as i am running on auto while yours manual (right?)

do ignore the 16km/l though, probably due to fuel tank wasn't pumped full that time, and the next FC does reflect it. taking 16 + 5.8 / 2 = you get 10.9 so yeah that's about the avg.

it's more than 8.3 km/l already wink.gif

and yes, same pedal to the metal/red line whenever traffic permits laugh.gif
(technically i save more fuel being stuck in traffic jams)
