Well, if it is as good as, if not better than the 18-105mm, it will be the next "gen" kitlens, provided its not too expensive as well tongue.gif tongue.gif (asking for alot)

Anyways, took this shot in UM basketball court a few months back biggrin.gif
So cool, so macho XD XD XD

Eh? Did it mention in the article? The range sure is much "broader" now, which can be really useful for those who wants a lens capable of shooting everything thumbup.gif

Mine is VC version lehh,  brows.gif but I used the old one before it got stolen la.

The old one is fine la, just that the extending tube is seriously annoying when doing macro. Both new and old versions are crazy sharp even wide open.
Btw new one the USD motor is fast enough for sports tracking also  thumbup.gif

Oh really? How much you paid for the VC version gunzerdude?

i dont think the 18-140 is any good unless it is constant aperture, most likely will just be another kitlens

Kit-lenses can also produce good results la given that the photog has skill whistling.gif

It's simply too expensive for a *kit lens*.
Canon has something similar for way less.
Nikon should instead concentrate on coming out with a 24-70 f/2 VR
Better start investing on getting that else they'll lag behind.

Ahh sorry, just checked my receipt, it's 1900 doh.gif

The 1850 is quoted by digitalsmania, but have to wait for them to order la, usually takes them just a couple days to get the lens in their store.

Thanks for sharing, the SB-300 is so cute (but a bit pointless don't you think? Especially when it cannot turn sideways) haha... and Coolpix L620 looks cool and trendy~  laugh.gif
As for the 18-140mm DX lens, a bit skeptical lol Lens with long focal range often compromise alot on IQ one  sad.gif
*
i still got my SB400.
all depends what is pointless tongue.gif
some ppl who dont use flash often, but have pro bodies, just want something small to carry around.
also the SB300 / 400 can be used on the Coolpix A...if you need bounce flash...and small enough so it doesnt look weird with a bigger flash on it tongue.gif

I see, thanks for the info thumbup.gif I wonder if it is worth the jump from 1900 (Tammy 90mm with VC) to 2990 (Micro Nikkor 105mm f2.8) simply for the better build quality. As regards the IQ, I think they both are pretty much the same right?

That comes down to your budget la, for me the VC=90% of the Nikkor except for the metal build quality so the 1000 bucks extra is better spent elsewhere brows.gif

Before the introduction of 18-105 kit there were 18-135 but no VR though, during the D80 days. Not sure how many of you know/remember tongue.gif. If this new 18-140 turns out to be new kit lens then its great. Hopefully the VR is better then current 18-105 but i suspect probably the same more or less.
