Hi all,

AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR

I am a Nikon beginner, from the above lens, what it mean by

1) f
2) 3.5-5.6
3) G
4) ED

I really really appreciate if you guys can tell me.
*
1) f= fstop/aperture
2) 3.5-5.6= minimum aperture value
3) G=no aperture ring(new lens)
4) ED=Extra-low Dispersion Glass

QUOTE(tctham @ Sep 6 2013, 05:50 PM)
how many here still using their kit lens?

haha.. i used to hate it (AF-S 18-55 VR) due to its inferiority compared to my prime (AF-S 35mm 1.8G) in terms of sharpness and etc.

but as time goes, i starting to like it more due to its lightness and versatility..

sorry, random post.. lolz.. really cheap man's glass..
*
i alway using it, in fact i never use others laugh.gif

I like this shot, great post and imho, composition XD
What's that thing on the person's left hand? Flare?  hmm.gif
Imho I think it'll be nicer if taken outside where there are some bokeh balls indicating its a street or something so that the background is less blank haha, but that's just me la, it all depends on your intention of the photo XD
*
thanks smile.gif, yeah it is flare, nice suggestion of the bokeh ball to keep subject separated from background thumbup.gif

Some shots that I took this week.

Which one is okay for this shot? I made two post-processed files.
