From the sound of it assteruk made some very unreasonable demands to TM.

Plus Assteruk isn't all an angel anyway. They drop BBCE just as I was getting into Doctor Who. Beg them to bring back the channel and they snobbishly claim no one watches BBC Entertainment. Who wants to watch ITV Granada? According to The Register only senile old people watch ITV Granada. Took 3 years before TM brought it back. Furthermore assteruk customer support very arrogant. And lastly dare to want to take me to court for false charges, over their stupid and already worthless smart card (say I never return it when I cancel sub, even though I did).

All these just shows assteruk is too strong and nobody nears them!Astro will be the sole national Tv/satelite provider and maybe one day RTM wl be bought over,just like how the govt sold off tv pendidikan Asstro is also part of digital Tv! It is no easy task to deal with asstro,look at the law suits against them which were put to sleep and note they took the former CJ as chairman!!

Guys having 2 problems.
In puchong area,
1) my astro having very frequent blocky images, something like reception not good. But check signal strength is strong and sufficient. Any guys faced such issue?

2) recently recorded TV shows, when play back, it seems to hang at a certain time when play back. For eg: it'll hang from 8 minutes till 15 minutes before the recording can be played again.

Any similar occurrence to u all?

talking about IPTV, Astro did f***ed Maxis in the face by coercing them to carry Astro channels over their fiber network
because Maxis used to have deals with a handful of exclusive content providers before their very own IPTV plan was called off

anyway, even with Astro-Maxis IPTV, the SD channels would still be in MPEG-2 anyway, that's too troublesome and costly for them to transcode into MPEG-4 over fiber network

now, it's about time for Maxis to f*** back Astro in the face

few years down the road, Syed Mokhtar would have rolled out DTV service as well, 2 years later, Astro satellite monopoly rights will end, effectively opening up the market in local satelite TV operator, hence it is really not impossible to see its demise. Unless, AK decided to sell his remaining shares to Khazanah, then it would be a different story. I don't see AK is that close to Najib anyway, he is just one of the icons back in Mahathir's era.

Khazanah has significant shares in both TM and Astro, as for ABN the company background is closely related to Rosmah and Vincent Tan

And we (consumer) have to pay over (high price+tax) charges for it.

Fyi only. Nick and Disney HD feeds now available in Asia. Noticed mio TV just replaced them. The Disney feed should be the same for MAL since The Times also indicated MAL. Not sure abt Nick though..... But I believe it's a regional SEA feed. Fyi only.

In Singapore and Hong Kong Nick and Disney available on both Mio and Starhub. Only in Malaysia that Assteruk can monopolize Disney and Nick. Unless the assteruk monopoly can be broken, it's unlikely to see Disney and Nick on HyppTV and/or ABN. And thus assteruk can continue to force their SD Disney and Nick down Malaysians' throats with the cheap excuse of not enough bandwidth. It's a known fact that assteruk do not care about childrens channels at all.

On the other hand, ABN and HyppTV has Nick Jr. Just not the main Nick.

Great, now we've missed CN HD, Disney HD & nick HD. (Although they could've use the recent space of Commonwealth games for it)

Went to the bookfest in klcc recently, not surprisingly, astro did set up a booth selling packages, last time went to diving fair and guess what, there were there as well!

The next thing you can imagine is, they will have a booth outside UMNO or MCA general assembly

I think they should set up a booth during some bigshot's weddings or funerals

Even DVD ah beng sellers also have more dignity than them

Like vultures they are all over,with their outdated and boring pack of so called exclusive channels,boring the nation since 1996! Hope their end is near with more turning to android devices and iptv

You know assteruk laa. Don't care about kids. Only care about the ones who can give them the most money: football nuts (who are usually white collar males in their prime, but foolish enough to fork out hundreds of dollars just to watch people kick a ball around) and Chinese drama fanatics (little old Chinese ladies with retirement money who're already half senile, if my lecturer's story is to be believed - about a bunch of old ladies gathering outside KLIA with rotten tomatoes and throwing them at a Hong Kong star that plays a villain in several shows who is visiting because their senility made them think that said star really is a bad woman). Kids where got money to give assteruk?

whoever is going to boycott McD this friday please do unsubscribe your Astro packages as well, do not even accept their offer to convert your smartcard into nJoi

you know those chainis aunties, they are either too rich or at least having decent financial status, too free NTBD hence got the time to participate the crap competitions like CGM
a lot of returning participants every year, so what kind of message we can see from this?
similarly, the quality of participants in StarQuest is getting worse year by year, those lalabengs should just stay in Redbox/Neway and do not ever come out

the homemade chinese language shows produced by 本地圈 are getting worse,

the good ones like "Taste of Life" and "大地" which have just ended recently were co-produced with local production house, those are considered among the better local shows, the rest of the shows like ASQ, CGM, etc, were made with the mind of reaping $$ out of sponsors and exploiting the attention-whoreness out of the participants. The most recent travel & living show (全家go cuti), featuring runner-ups from both ASQ & CGM as hosts, I was like WTF, a supposingly good show has been ruined by the auntie and uncle host. really miss the earlier show "背包go cuti" which was aired last year, the group of hosts were at least more vibrant and natural.

Really wonder how 朱志恒 (VP of Chinese entertainment in Astro) is doing his job

These clowns want to take on MCd instead of asstro,if asstro I too would have supported them
