QUOTE(Boldnut @ Aug 4 2013, 04:19 PM) because if u look into Hour/dollar on the base game vs DLC hours = the base give significant higher value hour/dollar. Since when one has to calculate on the basis of game versus DLC hours? If the DLC is good with a decent amount of content and new mechanics, then, nothings wrong with it as long as you buy it at the price you think its ok.if the base game is already $14.99, these DLCs should have at least $4.99 already especially the older smaller dawnguard. At the same time, what happens in an extreme situation if i spend only 10 hours in the base Skyrim, say im rushing to the DLC content where i need to be at least 11 to enter and never go back to base game, then, spend 50 hours in just Dawnguard, then, 50 hours in Dragonborn? What if i like to decorate my house and then spend 100 hours in using Heathfire's content? So, if i played the DLCs content more than the base game, should I deserved a cheaper price for base game too? At the end, your method of calculating hour/dollar on base and DLCs are flawed, not everyone plays their games in exactly the same way. Besides, how would you know that you'll be spending this amount of time in the base game versus DLCs, without even playing the game? Some people might spend 50 hours in a Borderlands 2 DLC clearing raid boss or 50 hours in Blood Dragon DLC than playing Far Cry 3. On top of that, how are you gonna calculate your Hour/Dollar for DLCs that are build into the core of the main game like Saints Row 3's vehicle or weapon packs? Put a stopwatch beside your PC to measure who long you used the Shark Gun? If you think the DLCs are overpriced, then, dont buy it then until you think the price is right for you. Dont have to cry foul whenever a game has DLCs, as some games like Borderlands 2 and Skyrim's DLC are packed with so much content where it is pretty worthwhile to buy at full price if one needs to have the content on day 1. If not, wait for price drops. I rather have DLC in games that are made in the sense of how BL2 or Skyrim DLCs are than having obnoxious Free to Play mechanics like waiting time or "life" system. Developers still have to make money you know and selling a $60 boxed copy isnt really enough these days, if the whole DLC milking thing doesnt work due to people like you, expect to see more mobile-like IAP shit such as paying $5 so that you can play one more match without waiting. At the end, I usually just buy DLCs on the price i think its alright as a token of appreciation to the developers for making that particular awesome game. |

When I buy games like single player RPGs it is all about the amount of content they had pack into a game, in this case for skryim I am looking into the number of quests, which in my opinion both DLC doesnt seems to justify the price. Especially the dawnguard is older than dragonborn wheres the latter is bigger and newer. Besides I am fine with heartfire at its price as it has diff kind of gameplay focus. Dont try to bring in borderland 2 as they are completely diff genre especially the contents it bring on multiplayer perspective. Skyrim is about doing quest, quest and quest and mods, thats pretty much most people play. But if u enjoy riding dragon, or vampirim by all means good for u the DLC worth something for u. So now Borderlands 2 has a different standard than Skyrim? No offence, It just feel like you just dislike Skyrim because it is a single player game as you used to complain about its bugs while the game is no where as buggy as you said.Dont try to bring in borderland 2 as they are completely diff genre especially the contents it bring on multiplayer perspective. Not every quest is visible right off the bat, and also, not everyone plays Skyrim by ticking off quest after quest. I rather wander around the game because the unexpected events are what made the game great in the first place. If I am ticking off quest after quest, i'll get bored with it very quickly as most of the quest lines in the game are kinda boring. Except Dark Brotherhood and Daederic Quests, those are amazing. |

No offence, It just feel like you just dislike Skyrim because it is a single player game as you used to complain about its bugs while the game is no where as buggy as you said. if u still wanna talk about skyrim bug, yes it is still buggy now compared to all other games I owned/played. I wouldnt run unofficial skyrim patch(USKP) without reason. ON the game play wise skyrim is awesome, but polish wise not awesome. 1. NPC got stuck, as of now there are still a couple of them, it is not game breaking. 2. quest can get stuck if I start it in a diff order. For example the King Olaf book @ Solitude can get stuck if I found the book first b4 starting the quest to find it. (*this is only been fix by USKP recently because I reported it) 3. occasionally dragons corpse or horse could pop out of nowhere dropping from the sky. a few days ago I had a flying mammoth. These are the few examples I can think of right now(is a long list). All these are still happen on top of USKP that is already fixed quite a number of them. U can go check how many bugs they had iron out. While some of these bugs are not really game breaking but these thing should not be there any more for a AAA game that is almost 2years old. It is also the only game has a rare random artifacts off and on when I run on Nvidia Adaptive Vsync. (not really their fault, it is weird that they are the only one had this problem) As for quest no offence, u may have ur style of playing skyrim This post has been edited by Boldnut: Aug 5 2013, 10:41 AM |
