12,000 for a CVT box vs 4,000 for a 4AT box.

First, it is too huge of a gamble. Secondly, I could be held responsible for the words I posted if complication arise due to the usage of CVT Fluid other than Esso EZL 799.

fair enough.

although i would like to mention that the same goes for engine oil anyways (how much it cost for engines these days? cheaper than the CVT box?)

In a car, the transmission is always regarded as the most important part followed by the engine.

Furthermore, there isn't many CVT specialist in Malaysia currently, so overhauling a CVT box is out of the equation when complication arise.

Well, I missed Esso fuel too.

There's one Esso I particularly liked very much at Sri Muda. Their Esso petrol is so much more "oomph" than other place punya Esso, particularly Esso Cheras. Don't ask me am I on crack or what, but hey that's what my buttdyno feel. ph34r.gif

i thought the engine would come first as without the engine a car is... not a car. you need power in the first place so that the transmission can even begin to apply the power to the wheels.

looking at modern cars, all their engines cost more than the transmission, even my car, 4g15 engine is between 2-3k? while a 3speeder at is in the 1-1.5k, manual tranny a bit less.

it's rather surprising if the cvt actually almost cost half of the saga flx itself laugh.gif

If bought from Proton, Campro engine assembly is the same price as the CVT gearbox, around RM12k not including labour.

but the difference is, Campro is familiar to many bawah pokok workshop....CVT, not so much. Summore CVT difficult to find halfcut.

So in that sense, the CVT is more valuable than the engine. hmm.gif

so in general it's more of a proton thing as the transmission is ahead of the engine right? (again, that is not the case with other makers, do correct me if i'm wrong though)

guys, if I wanted to upgrade my rims to 15".

What size tyre would be advisable?

I am looking at 195/55R15 but 1 tyre shop told me use 195/50R15. Would the latter be less comfortable?
