Man Utd's draw is not that easy.

Shakhtar Donetsk & Bayer Leverkusen are the opponents you have to watch out.

Group A: Man United, Shakhtar Donetsk, Bayer Leverkusen, Real Sociedad
Our group doesn't look too easy or too hard, probably somewhere in between. Some might have thought going to Plzen would be an easier trip but then even if the team isn't a top team the environment might not be suitable for us as they would be acclimatized to play on rough pitches in sub zero temperature winds drafting from the bleachers but our boys are used to playing in closed stadium with artificial environmental controls would have been a more difficult test for them so in this group the poorest pitch would probably be at Shakhtar (probably Ando would get his usual season long injury here) which isn't too bad. Although our head-to-head against Spanish teams lately isn't too good but at least we aren't going up against a Sociedad which was much stronger 6 years ago but seeing they're in the UCL instead of the EL speaks volumes about the hidden strength of this team. Leverkusen although don't have a galaxy of stars they aren't pushovers as they a constant top 4-5 finisher in the Bundesliga and remember this team has Jupp Heynckes DNA since he was the manager here before he took on the Munich job for a 3rd time.

Group B: Real Madrid, Juventus, Galatasaray, FC Copenhagen

Group C: Benfica, PSG, Olympiakos, Anderlecht

Group D: Bayern Munich, CSKA Moscow, Man City, Viktoria Plzen

Group E: Chelsea, Schalke, FC Basel, Steaua Bucharest
Chelsea seems quite lucky like us having a relatively easy group. Basel and Bucharest can be tricky but european minnows like them usually only have 2-3 world class players in their ranks while Chelsea can boast having world class players as benchwarmers, very possible they'll hit hard in the beginning to nick a goal to park the bus or by half time they don't have a goal they'll try to play for a draw. Schalke is a different beast they have a good mix of youth and experience like the steady goal poaching abilities of KJH, creativity of Farfan with solidarity of Barnetta in the middle, and the rock at the back in the form of Howedes - creating the back bone of the club with youngsters like Papadoupolos, Goretzka, Draxler, and Matip should make a name for themselves this season.

Group F: Arsenal, Marseille, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli
This looks to be the group of death this season as all 4 teams are always the top 4 in their respective league, stating Napoli is the weakest amongst them says alot about the group. Arsenal might struggle if their squad remains so thin. Marseille and Dortmund should be the favorites for this group as their the top two teams in their respective league. However, statistically strong French teams have always been non-performers so their hot and cold spells could be a disaster if Napoli or Arsenal manages to get lucky.

Group G: FC Porto, Atletico Madrid, Zenit St Petersburg, Austria Vienna

Group H: Barcelona, AC Milan, Ajax, Celtic
The top dogs in their respective leagues but then not all leagues are equal thus of course nobody would doubt Barca having the top billing. Milan hasn't been the same since their scandal but they do have a strong enough team for domestic and europe but I do think they were stronger last season with Pato but even without him the starting strikers aren't pushovers and they have alot of exciting young players. Ajax and Celtic are top dogs in their own league but would probably be a few notches below Barca & Milan in terms of quality, however Ajax have proven to be giant killers in the past so don't write them off.

kinda lazy to finish the rest of my thoughts on this, goodnight!

an OK group. not easy, but we are still the best team and favourite. Arsenal had a toughest draw.

lets focus on the weekend. Liverpool facing some injury crisis while our injured players are coming back. we definitely target a 3pts, and i hope for a cracking match. no controversy pls.

final rush for speculation

United make €30m bid for Spanish midfielder

So what do we know about Herrera?

He was a part of the 2011 Spanish under-21 Championship winning team, playing alongside Thiago Alcantara in midfield, and has been key for Bilbao over the past few seasons.

Herrera has been likened to Steven Gerrard for his box-to-box style, and is capable of playing in a variety of positions, defensively and offensively.

He has of course already played at Old Trafford, scoring in Bilbao's 3-2 win in the Europa League two seasons ago. They reached the final of the competition, and an in-form Herrera scored four times and provided 12 assists.

quite some player he is...very bright...he is spanish...n i do luv spanish playing essence...spanish playmaker always hav this razor sharp weighted passes in them drool.gif ...follow him from zaragoza last time...gud football brain for a young lads...not likely as mobile as cesc n thiago...but powerful n strong more to gerrard n mccarthy to my liking...btw is he basque? if he is...quite susah for him to leave...more to navas case in early age...bilbao is a great team when we play them in europa last time...still they r a gud team now...lucky thay only sign basque player...if not...they will be breaking the top 4 every year...SAF after 2/3 of their player no...

but for 36 million...i wud go for fellaini...

This is quite true.
All 3 are dark horse teams and can be giant killers on their day.
