^Nani is an ideal player for DM game playbook, if he retain his Everton playing style/formation (Pienaar's role)

Modric? for me he is likely to stay at Madrid. so his status is like Fabregas. possible to lure him away but at the price we cant afford. and the player himself not really want to move.

iirc Ancelotti was the Chelsea manager wanted to buy Modric before Levy forced to sold him to Madrid. so Modric know he will have a good chance, despite Illarramendi purchase. Alonso with his fitness and age, will be the bit part CM for Ancelotti.

we can try and i love him here. but the sooner DM move for a realistic target (Fellaini), the better.

United rarely bid a players and declare publicly before, but in the start of DM era, we did..

i dont think we'll spend 50mil on single player, but in the start of DM era, we never know..

tbh, Ronaldo coming is a bonus. and i'll f***in happy if that happen. but im pessimist that'll happen. im positive the likes of Zaha and Nani will make a huge impact in coming season.

buying a CM far more essential..

Why don't we just take Luis Gustavo since he wanted to leave Bayern?
*
this kind of player we need to take a look. relatively cheap (8-14 mil pound), good age and full of experience at highest level. can be a replacement for Carrick as holding MF, or be his partner in defensive minded setup.

ill take him over Fellaini, which will cost us double.

so it seem DM never interested with Fellaini (Martinez confirmed the player minimum release clause was expired, and we made no official move b4)

i not blaming DM for lack of transfer activity. if anything, i blame the team handling the affair.

rumor about we asking for Modric or (surprisingly) Ozil resurface.

tbh im expecting no new player but please DM, surprise me with new CM. our midfield really unconvincing.

actually ozil plays similiar position as kagawa. best played as centre attacking midfielder so we dont really need him. occasionally he played on right side of midfield..
*
people always forget we are under new manager. DM always have preference to play with lone striker, so 2 CAMs in a starting line up will be not unusual sight. based on the game against Wigan, the likes of Giggs and Welbeck was seen played as CAM/inter changeable AM.

btw all ESPN expert predict we will not finish as champions. even one predict us outside top 4. i love when media write us off..

great result, though Swansea looked more convincing in opening half. the huge different was our finishing are much better.

we will start as a 3rd favourite this season, i dont mind that. as long as we keep winning and progressing. this is proven champions team, and the younger lads will have less pressure.

the selection of Rooney on the game against Chelsea will subtle sign which way his future lies on. if DM select him, whether as a starter or on the bench, that will be a vote of confidence for Rooney to stay. if not, clearly DM dont trust him.

QUOTE(bansai @ Aug 20 2013, 12:53 AM)
maybe. won't know what's in their minds anyway. but does moyes really want a player like fellaini in this united system. From the players that we have bid on, all are totally opposites from fellaini. It's like there are no other choices but i still want to spend some money. By offering 28m for 2 players, does he really have the heart to buy them? Now everton will start to play hardball, i'm estimating 15-16m on baines and 20-25m at least for fellaini cause it's too late in the window for everton to replace their 2 best players.
*
QUOTE(konichiwawa @ Aug 20 2013, 07:14 AM)
I disagree that it'll take 25m for Fellaini. The whole reason Moyes let the clause expire is because he wanted to bid lower than the minimum release clause. Don't think he'll go any higher than 20m for him. As for Baines, I question if it's really required at 15m with Evra playing quite well. Having Evra and Baines might be a bit of an overkill with either 1 sitting on the bench. Quite a lot of money to pay I believe but I do believe he's a quality LB.
*
IMO, Fellaini is a DM fallback option. we cant have the likes of Fabregas or Modric, which DM prefer, the likes of Fellaini its better than nothing. another route its to buy a low profile name, but it'll take time. rather give a playing time to Cleverley, Anderson and youngsters.

starting with a low price is a common sense. we probably value Baines at 10-12 mil, and that leave 16-18 mil for Fellaini. for me, thats is their worth but the apparently market value demand another 10+ mil more. if DM really want Fellaini, he will done so last month, pay the minimum release fee and be done with it.

i predict we will buy them on transfer deadline, around 38 mil.

I doubt, is Welbeck really that good? Why he can gt to play on field despite Rooney? Hernandez? Zaha?
*
fitness-wise, Welbeck is much better than Rooney, Hernandez, Kagawa. i believe he'll be feature much in all 5 our opening games. DM not to used to apply heavy rotation. he'll basically stick with same XI.

Welbeck's versatile, hard worker. though he need to cut out his tendency to show off unnecessary fancy skills when he get in ball in our own half. i noticed he clumsily did lost a possession at least twice against Swansea, one got punished by a goal.

Zaha is direct competitor to Valencia. since most of our opening matches are tougher, Valencia will get a nod until Young /Nani get their fitness back.

The problem is asking Everton to release 2 of their best players so close to dateline. It's like someone buying van persie and Carrick from us at this time. How the heck are we going to get replacements.
*
i think Martinez willing to sell Fellaini, at the right price. his style not really favoured the likes of Fellaini. he already targeting McCarthy, where the price are the obstacle. money from selling Fellaini will be funding for buying McCarthy. but Baines definitely an essential player for him.

IMO Everton likely to sell Fellaini at good price (around his previous minimum release fee), but it'll take mega offer for Baines. it suit us better i think, which we need a CM urgently than LB to challenge /replace Evra.

QUOTE(gr8fr8 @ Aug 20 2013, 04:34 PM)
The striker's agent, Eduardo Hernandez, is quoted as saying: "Of course he wants to play more, to have more minutes, to participate more, but he wants to do it at United, he wants to defend the title and go far in the Champions League.

"The interest from Valencia was real. He had the chance to speak with the sporting director [Braulio Vazquez] but Javier, I reiterate, wants to stay at Manchester United, this is the challenge.

"He was very grateful to Valencia and the other clubs who called him.

"It's not a question of money - we didn't even talk about that subject, there's only one subject for Javier: he wants to play and be a starter at United.

"He knows it's a very competitive club and that he has to fight to play every day, in the dressing room and on the training ground, but he's not scared, he says he's more motivated than ever.

"His outlook is the same as when he moved to English football; to triumph.

"Now, with the new manager, he has a lot of hopes, a big desire to play and to grow as a footballer. This season is a new challenge for him.

"He wants to triumph in England. He knows that a starting spot comes with working hard and he has to take advantage of the opportunities that come his way, like he did with Alex Ferguson."

Hernandez mind set probably as same as Solskjaer in early 2000s. Spurs were bidding, United accepted in but Solskjaer rejected it. he wasnt mind to compete (and winning trophies).

we have limited attacking options today. Nani, Young, Hernandez are injured or not fit enough. DM probably do not trust Rooney.

so our front 6 will be,

Carrick-Cleverley
Valencia-Welbeck-Giggs
RVP

good enough, but lack of firepower will come from bench except of Kagawa and Zaha. they are still finding their feet.

Is this true Ozil will join United?

basically my understanding Ozil /his agent feeling threaten with Isco and imminent Bale signing. so they working out a route out and tell United they can have Ozil for 38 mil GBP. United basically not keen, but somehow willing try at low price 30 mil GBP. Real will likely to reject that.

personally i think we dont need the likes of Ozil /Mata, but when world class player like them become available, its hard to resist. we was also 'dont need' RVP last season, it turn out to be a well worth signing.

great straight replacement for Rooney (probably same worth of transfer fee, with little profit and save some on salary).

im not Rooney biggest fan, but i admire his performance tonight. he gave his best, despite all the transfer talks.. we dont need Mata or Ozil.

at this point Mata is likely to leave Chelsea than Rooney to leave United.

draw is a decent result, though Chelsea is the one benefited it more (cause we had a home advantage). last week against Swansea, i think DM was spotted on, on subsituation. but this week, i dont like his sub. Valencia should continue, Young should come for Welbeck to play LW.

Liverpool next.

Spurs really have a good recruitments this season - Another additional to their club, is like showing to Bale that they are building a team around him and convinced him to stay...
*
i love how they conduct their business. so swift. even they can deliberately delay Bale's transfer, indirectly hurt Arsenal chances to sign a players from Madrid towards derby game this weekend.

i think Paulinho will be big hit in BPL. i love if United sign him first.

they failed in Willian case, but thats down to the player preference. Chelsea against Spurs, CL vs EL, and salary..

an OK group. not easy, but we are still the best team and favourite. Arsenal had a toughest draw.

lets focus on the weekend. Liverpool facing some injury crisis while our injured players are coming back. we definitely target a 3pts, and i hope for a cracking match. no controversy pls.

the certain part that i want to criticize Woodward and Moyes in transfer dealing, is Fellaini deal. they will eventually settle to pay same amount, or worse, higher than minimum release clause. in retrospective, if they decisive and bold, Fellaini can settle down early and join our preseason.

Fabregas and others, ive no complaint. i think we didnt raise much coz we know Fabregas not keen to move, or Glazers limit our budget.

Fellaini and Herrera will perfect buys at the moment (though it'll look like desperate buys and the price are above the odd)

normally ill avoid internet after United lost to rival, esp City or Liverpool. but i cant help it since this is the D Day of summer transfer window.

we badly need a CMs. top 3 names tout around are Fellaini, Herrera and Derossi. i really we can land 2 of them, preferably 2 of the former.

i think DM first XI and gameplan was poor. Giggs on the right, Young on the left. but things looked better in 2nd half. IMO the player that deserved a credit, only Valencia. and DDG, Evra did nothing wrong. i hope DM will give Nani, Kagawa and Fabio more chances after this.

but no need knee jerk reaction. Anfield are always tough place to win. under SAF we often performed poorly.
