Great! Decided to put a 120mm fan on my side casing (available fan slot) with double ultra-fine filters (can't stand the dust!). Blows directly into the casing on top of my GTX760.
Gaming Metro LL for 20 minutes (full settings 1920 x 1080, closed casing), max temp at 57'c only at 67% fan speed (1920rpm). A reduction in GPU temp of 3-4% 'c! Air-con room at 26'c..... on idle, GPU drops down to 31'c after 10 minutes..... This post has been edited by kmarc: Aug 10 2013, 10:56 PM |

QUOTE(Exeunt @ Aug 11 2013, 01:01 AM) may i ask what brand is your fan filter...planning to get one as well.. Using silverstone magnetic ultrafine filter. Bought it from here : https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2817021&hl=without a/c, my gtx 670 is around 37c (idle) with a/c, temp only only drop to 35c.. (idle) Even with the ultrafine filter, the pesky dust can still go through. That's why decided to put double filter for the side fan (1 filter before and 1 filter after the fan). However, since it is ultrafine, it filter dust better than the normal filters. However, the magnet is handy as I can just stick it to anywhere that is metal. You're using MSI GTX760 too? How's your casing airflow? My casing is CM 690 advance. 1x 140mm and 1x120mm fan blowing in, 2x140mm (temperature controlled) and 1x120mm fan blowing out. QUOTE(Cable707 @ Aug 11 2013, 06:55 AM) I'm using it. No problems so far. However, my previous GTX460 also had intermittent freeze when using this driver. Had to switch back to 314.22 to avoid the problem.....This post has been edited by kmarc: Aug 11 2013, 11:21 AM |

Generally, you don't really need an extra cooler fan blowing at your GPU. But you can read what our dear friend did above. |
