I thought 690 would have less fps compared to Titan cos titan is the newer 690 for the 700 series doh.gif

Among the single GPU/core cards, Titan still sitting on the throne, followed by GTX 780 behind.
GTX 690 is basically a single card but with 2 GTX 680 GPU/cores on it.
Currently, the GTX 690 tops a Titan; So does a single 7990. But these both are dual GPU cards. Hope that explains.

For Zotac, not too sure about their 760s and 770s which uses their own custom cooler, but their 780 which is Nvidia reference design runs just the same as other reference 780 cards, temperature-wise.

80c is not damaging at all. I set my temperature target to 90c and let the GPU Boost 2.0 do it's magic.. even with the auto ramp up of core clock it never exceeds 86c. This is on a GTX 780 with Nvidia reference cooler.

ok thanks. how about the latest beta 326.41?
*
He answered accordingly already.
326.41 still has the 36 hour TDR issue, read up all about it at official Nvidia forums. Nvidia rep however has confirmed they possibly know what is causing these 36 hour TDRs and should be fixed in next WHQL driver release. In the meantime for full stability use 314.22, that's all.

If you really feel like updating driver, you may install 314.22 and stay on it until the next WHQL driver.

Okay. Sounds convincing, I will go read up on what their warranty covers.

Somehow I don't trust the quality of Zotac GPU  unsure.gif

Whats not to trust? I've been using a Zotac 780 for 2 months now and couldn't be happier. If Zotac is so terrible I won't dump over 2k on a zotac card. Its good to be careful and discerning before making a purchase but some people take it too far. You're not buying a mail-order bride from Vietnam.

geforce experience have difficulty detecting non-legit games smile.gif
also did you add the game path to the search locations for geforce experience? it needs to know where your games are (drive/folder paths).

this is very weird. any GTX 460 here? apparently any drivers after march 2013 will not work well with GTX 460, any new drivers after that month cause crash or driver issue to my windows 7 64bit.. what is nvidia doing??
*
Right now for GTX 4xx and 5xx users, recommended to stay on 314.22 WHQL drivers. The problems were affecting all cards but the latest WHQL seem to have fixed the issue for 7xx series.

GTX 780 owners, hold your horses before considering R9 290x, ask yourself if you've pushed the 780 to its potential smile.gif Real game changer may be AMD Mantle later, I plan to wait and see how that turns out.

Broke 10k in 3DMark Fire Strike.. i7-3770k @ 4.6ghz, GTX 780 (Zotac, Reference) x 1 | Core @ 1045 MHz & Boost 1084 MHz , Memory @ 1700 MHz

Hence I stated clearly why Mantle may be the game changer. Must also look at the adoption rate of Mantle API by developers, not just DICE. Everything is still up in the air at this point.

The point of my post is, if you own a 780 and have not OC'ed it proper and get the most out of the card, then do it. You don't need to sell the 780 and buy an R9 290X just yet. Too soon.

Just go for the fastest clocked 2GB variant would do. You will fast run out of GPU processing power long before you hit the VRAM wall (limit), making the extra 2GB redundant.
*
This is correct, especially at 1920x1080 and 1920x1200 resolution gaming.

For reading pleasure;
The Cause Of And Fix For Radeon R9 290X And 290 Inconsistency

That being said, it really doesn't matter what you opt for. As long as you made your own choice, spent your own money, and ultimately satisfied with your purchase. Rather than diss people who chose differently than you, spend that time actually making use of your gpu and go game instead of being condescending on the forums. It's becoming really apparent to most people here what you're doing and no one likes what they see.

Free time on a Sunday, decided to mess around with the 780 AMP! Edition

On it's default clocks 1006 core / 1552 memory yields a 3DMark Fire Strike score of 9600

After about a 3 weeks of running the card on default, here's the result of my OC, it's as much as my particular card will go, anything higher on either core or memory will crash 3DMark

1075 core / 1725 memory | Driver 331.82 | Fan Control on Custom | Temperature never exceeded 66*C

Attached Image

Results : http://www.3dmark.com/fs/1198456

Attached Image Attached Image

My previous card which was a Reference 780 goes a little higher during OC but at the expense of higher temperatures (86~87*C) and a slightly noisier cooler fan

IIRC, this was 1100 core / 1700 memory | Driver 327.23

I think the 780 AMP! Edition's cooler is particularly good.. 3 fans.

My custom fan profile is nothing fancy, fan curve attached below. It's just better than leaving it on auto smile.gif

Still very silent.
