That website originally said something like beta registration will resume on 17th aug.

Now, it just say something like beta application is closed

I myself think, it's just telling those who didn't manage to get a beta code and register before 30th july, that they'll only be able to register their code on 17th aug. People are just speculating open beta starts when they can register their beta code which I think is not likely to be true due to the dates.

for previous beta code registered, phase 4 will start before 17th, likely the rumoured date 9th-12th aug. However, it's all my own reasoning.

27th - launch
22th - early access(let's say it's a 5 day early access. I remember 1.0 early access was 5 or 7 days)
18-21th - 3 day downtime (yoshi said this himself that there'll be around 2-3 day downtime between open beta end and early access starts)
17th - open beta start, and open beta end? This can't be correct right?

So I do think either it was a mistake date some employee wrote on the website, and later only changing it after realizing it. That employee probably was told something else with a date, and he didn't drink enough coffee and mix it up in his head. I have a strong hunch that 17th aug is actually the date that we'll be able to enter our Pre-order bonus code.

yea personally i dont think OB is on 17th either. they already stated somewhere that phase 4 gonna last for 1 week, cant be EA only last for 3days. pretty sure he was trolling us hahaha. oh yea btw i heard legacy players no early access hahahaha

no you're wrong, Legacy players have early access automatically. Those who bought 1.0 but didn't pay subscription for at least 3 months during Jan 2012 - Sep 2012 didn't get Legacy status thus no auto early access. I'm one of them sadly, and have to make a pre-order just to get early access. I didn't even know SE stop all auto payment even if you've register your card because SE didn't want to charge accidently on players that had stop playing . Wish I had checked on it.

Probably quite a number of fans been complaining about how unfair for those who got invited into obt without paying to purchase early preorders.

Doesn't matter much. i am out of town on the 7th Aug, so won't be able to play much sadly.

Legacy Players are those who have paid 1.0 subscription for atleast 3 month worth of subscription during Jan 2012-Sep 2012. Only Legacy Players get Early Access. No item bonus. So those who played 1.0 but never bother to subscript during the Jan 2012-Sep 2012 are not eligible to the early access bestowed to the Legacy players.

1.0 Collector edition only give you 2.0 CE in-game items, no early access.

I suspect the full game should be around 15G~20G. The graphics is way better than TERA or GW2 (in my opinion), and those 2 games are around 20G. Beta was 5G-ish because not all the content were in the game.
