I added 4GB RAM only. Planning to change the HDD to SSD next year. Now no budget  sweat.gif

Not sure about msata ssd though, but as posted by rafazafar, he succesfully swapped the hdd with ssd.  biggrin.gif  rclxms.gif
Warranty wise, many people say changing to ssd and upgrading the ram wont void the warranty.

you add the ram yourself?

Mind to share which brand RAM you added and how much? rclxms.gif

I was thinking to upgrade the RAM as well. Not very sure though if it will make the laptop faster hmm.gif

Any advice on whether to upgrade the RAM first or change hdd to ssd for better laptop performance?

The SSD has to be m-sata connection right?

Not really know about SSD rclxub.gif

oh so most ssd in the market nowadays will fit right as long as they are 2.5" for laptop?

feels tempting to change but the switching of windows seems very troublesome hmm.gif

Well for bigger storage and games I got my desktop for them. This laptop is mainly for mobility and fast responsiveness. Hence I'm thinking to upgrade either the RAM or SSD.

Btw, I just found this from the acer community forum:

The hard disk specification avaliable for this model is :

Hard disk drive with solid state drive cache:
320 / 500GB 2.5-inch 5400 RPM

Solid state drive:
24 / 120 / 128 / 256GB, SATA 6 Gb/s

So meaning the max ssd storage we can install for this laptop will be 256GB?

Just to report, i got 9 hours and 8mins web browsing time on power saver settings after SSD upgrade. i wonder how much more power would be saved with increased ram and a top of the line samsung pro/evo ssd.

ram is ddr3l 1.35v.
mPCIe port does support HDD caching. will confirm again if it can be used as primary boot.
*
how did you managed to get 9 hours? may i know your power saver setting? notworthy.gif

Damn I just updated mine before I read your comment  doh.gif

I wonder is it the driver still actually working and just a display issue?

So in reality this laptop has both intel driver and nvidia driver?

Btw how do you do driver sweeping?
*
i updated mine just fine.. thats wierd. i used the nvidia site to autodetect.
