Believe me.. Kena rain is not a big problem for zl.. Just don't over long time.. Normally if rain u won't purposely take out your phone and use it.. But if u use z then u can show off like that..

Buy Z or Z1 if budget is allowable..

Sometimes need to put in bag cos dont fit some of the pants pocket. If heavy rain & wind, though with umbrella, inside the pants pocket also it can get a bit wet.

Same as what stratos said.. Normal rain should be no problem. Coz just wet.. Don't heavy rain until water direct enter the micro USB port or headphone port..if some water splash on the screen should be no problem.. Coz I had tried to capture photo while little raining and experienced pant wet while raining.. No problem.. Take out wipe off.. Of course, if u buy Z can got better protection.. But I would rather ask u go for Z1 now and won't regret in future.

well, for ZL, have to be careful water does not sip in thru all the opening. eg. speaker grill, mic, headphonejack, microsd & SIM slot, or even the physical buttons... as all these opening are not protected against water at all.

a little wet on the screen is of course no problem, the same goes with any other phone i would say. usually water damage is thru all the opening as i mentioned above.

So, for me if using ZL, i would advise not to get it wet at all.

Well, another reason is one of my Nokias ended up accidently rendam in laundry before. It survived 30 min in soap water but didnt last long after that. So, just pay a few hundred more for waterproof/water resistant model, with better spec too

the Z range - Z, Z Ultra and ZL all look so slim, wonder if cracks easily.
