For my kelisa rubber I just order the rubber from sc and changed it already earlier this month.
I changed the regulator too.
Total damage rubber+regulator+labour is exactly rm200.
To me still acceptable as now my driver side window now up/down no more jerking already.
Ps: rubber very cheap only

Hi there,
for the rm200, is it for one window or 4 all together?
are those rubber lining original from perodua?
thanks for your reply alot.

QUOTE(mikehwy @ Dec 8 2014, 12:04 PM)
change the spring also la? maybe the srping got soft ady and go senget when you swirl your kelisa?

My new exhaust tail end got a little bit of rust.
Went back to the shop and the boss says my engine is 'good' and so got some vapor in the morning and this causes light rust at the tail ring edge. He says many town driving cars also got the same issue one, unless i rev for a long distance then 'maybe' the rust is gone. true or not bros .. ?
*
The rust is because the exhaust pipe is not stainless steel, it will continue to rust and rot. Revving it will not make it solve it.

I got the same problem too.

The original pipe on my has rotten so much until the exhaust hook section. So I go for a replacement at one of those 'exhaust specialist'. The foreman told me he's replacing with a stainless steel pipe, won't rust. Charged me RM180.

After 3 months, I saw some rust just like yours. Went back to the specialist, he told me my engine still good, still producing some water vapor in exhaust, and the little rust is normal. I was mad as I know (at least to my knowledge!) that stainless steel won't rust. I argued with him, then he just grind off the rust and spray some silver paint over it. I know it won't work and don't want to argue with him any further.

About few days later, the silver paint peel of and revealing some new patch of rust.

Bottom line is, I got cheated. As he told me it was stainless steel, turns out it is not. Next time just go chop shop to look for Kelisa exhaust pipe. As I see it, certain batch of Kelisa comes with good pipe that won't rust. Other unlucky one like mine, will rust.

Story time.

Last week my friend brought me to Cameron Highland in his Waja. We went through the Tapah - Cameron route and it was amazing. It ignited an idea that I have buried long time ago, to have a driver's car.

So with my 2004 Kelisa 1.0 manual, it will certainly be fun on these winding mountain roads. But it lacks power. So now a K3-VE engine upgrade from Daihatsu Storia came to my mind, and I would like to know if any owner here have done it.

How much is your engine transplant cost?

Cost of suspension and brake upgrade?

JPJ approved the car after mod?

How's the reliability after the mod?

The K3-VE vibrate more than the stock EJ-DE? Or much refine than the stock engine?

I found a garage that specialized in the transplant, very tempting...

I pretty sure JPJ can approve that, but no confirm
4 cylinder engine should be more refined than 3 cylinder, because it is more balanced and vibrate less

If rubber lining only, is rm18 or rm20 per window. The high cost is because I chg my driver side motor(regulator). I order from sc itself. Original

The last post, if can pass JPJ, I do want to install the 1.3 engine if my current one dies one day~! 😄

If you maintain your car properly, the engine won't die so easily. According to my mechanic, Kelisa is one of the least problematic cars around.

But upgrade to 1.3 sure will give the POWER SURGE! drool.gif

I agree...only those wear n tear stuff will wear off. My 2004 kelisa engine until now still awesome shit. Add my ENEOS eco oil....fuh...Im loving the FC man. Full tank 420-440km. Now only showing signs of top engine leaking oil but very little.

Hehe... I've done around 600+KM with around 30+L of fuel, not even full tank! Best records is around 4.6L/100KM

How I achieved it with Kelisa manual 1.0:
1. Tyre properly inflated.
2. Throw unneccessary weight off the car.
3. Air cond at the least cold setting.
4. 60% Highway (Federal highway) + 40% small road.
5. Highway running around 80 to 90KM/h.
6. Shift early around 2100RPM, in fifth gear around 60KM/h.
7. Gentle acceleration.
8. Defensive driving, non aggressive.
9. Decelerate to stop when notice red light afar.

engine alone from 3.5k to 4.5k ..labour some as low as 800 to as high as 2k+. usually the high one covers eveything like engine oil, gear oil belts and so on.

Cost of suspension and brake upgrade?
suspension..adjustables...around 1k but u need to retune the front as the engine is heavier. off the shelf adjustables is tune for 1.0

as for front brakes already comes with 1/2 cut. so just use that. while for the rear disc u need to find...which can cost around 800

JPJ approved the car after mod?
u need to go thru JPJ and PUSPAKOM...should not be much issue. lazzy to do urself, then pay runner

How's the reliability after the mod?
depends how reliable is your mechanic

The K3-VE vibrate more than the stock EJ-DE? Or much refine than the stock engine?
vibrate much lesser

Thanks for the info lonewolf.

Now with the K3-VE from Storia, when you need to replace the engine mounting, can you use back the one for Myvi?

How to know if it's top engine leaking?

It will be a torture for me to stay 80-90km/h at highway if I'm going to work.😅 coming home is ok 😉

How to know it's better to do top overhaul/ full overhaul/ engine change?

My alarm key is lost, how much to make a duplicate set?
Anyone change aircon compressor before? Cost?

Check your top engine if you see it greasy then its mostly top. When you park your car check the bottom if there's any greasy spots. If there is most likely your gasket or block.

If you got money change engine. Otherwise, I dont see the point cuz once you full overhaul its good enough. When your FC is becoming higher and your engine is slow in response. Revv your engine and see. If its white very visible smoke then do minor overhaul. If its black, do a full overhaul. Usually applies to 100,000km or 10 yrs car.

Alarm lost do new one about RM60-80.

Compressor RM250 around there. Get original one...don't turn your air cond temperature to full. I use mine at minimum and its cold as shiet still

Thanks very much for your response~! thumbup.gif
Luckily i dun have the symptoms that you mentioned above icon_rolleyes.gif
will go to accessories and service centre to compare the price of the alarm lost, hopefully they won't chop me tongue.gif
Maybe my clutch is a little high, or my belt is slowly wearing out, acceleration is not as 'optimum' brows.gif as i want
My 9yo manual is 200k mileage. FC is 16-18km/l.

To all sifus,

Is it feasible to try the engine injection cleaning/ fuel booster kind of thing? Any side effect? Thanks

Engine cleaning base on Fifth gear TV show has effect. Provided your car engine is really dirty internally. If not, then no effect becauase your engine has nothing to clean.
